Record from T.V. to computer

Hello. I was wondering how I could record something from the television and put what I recorded on the computer as a video. My purpose for this is to record gameplay from a few of my video games and put the videos on my computer. So far I've been using a webcam to record it, but the quality is Horriable. Maybe there is something out in stores that can do this? Maybe something simular to the VHS tape recorder, but not recorded to tape though. Whatever it may be.. let me know. ~Thanks

Maybe if you have a DVD Recorder you can record it to a DVD and then put it onto your computer and you should get better quality like that. I normally use a DVD Recorder and then post things on the internet with like that.

I had this software which ran in the background and recorded whatever you were doing onscreen. Now for the life of me I can't remember its name. Give me sometime, if I find it I'll post it here.
