Just a thought

If anybody wants to create true philosophy, then he/she should NOT read any reference about it. Reading Descartes, Kant, Socrates, etc. contaminates the mind, making the thoughts going through an artificial direction, and not following "the natural way" of philosophical thinking.

¿So, was Plato wrong?. Not at all.

What I mean is that if you want to think about self existence, then you couldn't show your true feelings nor believes if you read about "cogito ergo sum". No matter how hard you try, the subconscious is stronger.

i totally agree clear thinking can only be achieved through thought alone
research or outside influence always affect a persons train of thought

I personally think that you can form your own philosophical beliefs without any kind of outside source (other than expierence, of course). But I also believe that if you read Plato, Socrates, etc. that although it may effect your way of thinking, you can also use clear thought to enhance such things.

This is like saying "Current models of cars increase air pollution, wear down, and are bulky. I don't want my automobile invention to be affected by such archaic mechanisms. Therefore, I'll reinvent the wheel."

You could theoretically form your own beliefs without ever reading the works of past philosophers, but those beliefs wouldn't be more than crap unless you were very intelligent.

No, is not like that at all. You got the whole idea totally wrong.

Yes, they might be crap or very clever works, yet, it's true own philosophy. And most of people who like to think not always make crap.

What is important here is the very own way of thinking. A true believe. Doesn't matter if it is good or bad.[/quote]

Untrue. In all reality, you don't have to be very smart at all. You just need common sense more times than not.
