.htaccess file rename

imagefree
i have installed XAMPP in my WINXP pc and installed Joomla. In order to make my URLs SEO friendly, Joomla says that you must rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess while window doesnt accept a name of file without anything before "."

How to solve this problem?
MrBlueSky
You can open a DOS-window (*), go to the directory and type:

Code:

rename htaccess.txt .htaccess

(*) To open a DOS-window go to Start->Run and type "cmd.exe"
