i cant believe that even if there is a lot of proves of the global warming some people stil say, oo relax its just something that has ever happened bla bla bla theres going to by an ice age and the world is cooled down again, theres no problem
yeah thats ok if you wanna this world messed up, but think about it we can do a lot of things to stop this, think about future generations saying what tha hell were thinking those people when they messed up the world, is unbeliable, but theres still time, we MUST do something, i cant believe how some people dont get it.
(sorry for the bad english)

What are we going to do? Stop life as we know it because our planet is deteriorating? The planet will more than likely eventually fix itself. How do you supposed we stop global warming? No use of petroleum or other fuels that produce carbon gases? Life would cease to exist as you know it, and we would be back into 1840 once more, a more of a regression than progression.
coreymanshack,
If nothing is done, life as we know it will stop anyways. I hope this wouldn't be your solution to a comet on a collision course with earth. After all, comets are natural and the earth may eventually "fix itself" once again.
There are other reasons to stop using petroleum besides all the impurities it releases into the atmosphere. As far as I know, and I could be mistaken, there is only enough petroleum left on earth to last the next 60 years at the current rate of consumption. Thats why its a great idea to invest in discovering alternative cleaner burning fuels.
1.) Better for the environment.
2.) We need to make the change anyways since our current fuel supply is becoming very limited.

Would it be a regression? There wouldn't be overpopulation, profanity, or many taxes.
Secondly, this notion of "1840" isn't even true because there are such things as electic cars and windmills....
Corey people like you just never want to think that the future will ever change.
lmfao, I'm intrigued at your replies. I say live life as it is at the moment, I hear in 2012 hyrdogen fueled cars are going to start hitting the market, so this will be a big fix to our situation. No need to worry abou t this, there are people that have already started these changes where we won't destroy out good planet
I can't say that i am not interested in this matter, but i heard recently from a scientific report that not CO2 is the real evil one, but the exhaust of water mist is the real evil one.
I hearded this on the radio, so of that there are evidence of this research is not say.
Also there is a simular planet like earth in an other galaxy and there is happening exactly the same as here only not in such speed rate.
So i don't know what i have to think about this entire hype. As long as the USA and many other great nations are exhausting so much rubbish in the air, then it's no use that a few small nations are doing everything to reduce the exhaust.
Our continuing to pour more stuff into the air is definitely going to have an effect on how much sea levels will rise and climate will change over the next few decades. It seems wise to push for reductions of harmful gases by all of us. How hard to push, and what the tradeoffs are, will always be controversial of course.
In the long run, the climate and sea levels will change substantially regardless of what we do. How much of the problem we caused really doesn't matter. We need to anticipate the changes and begin planning more inland cities and new agricultural policies. Overall, the Earth will not be that different or much worse of a place a century from now, but we likely will lose several _trillions_ of dollars worth of existing cities and other facilities that we will have to abandon due to sea level increases and desert conditions in once-fertile areas.
The real issue isn't the type of changes that will take place. More dramatic ones appear to have happened historically, but have always proved reversible. The issue is the speed with which the changes are taking place, and the unprecedented impact on human activities within the next century.
There are a few talking about possible "tipping points" that would cause the Earth to become uninhabitable. We need to understand the mechanics of the planet we live on, so these ideas should be studied. But for now, I believe the doomsday scenarios are very unlikely.

i totally disagree you, in these days the petroleum just bring war and death to the poor inocent people in middle east, and of course pollution to the enviroment, even when it can be completely replaced, the hidrogen cars, the clean energy producing metods, i think that if we end with the use of petroleum it would by a total progression, what is necesary is the minds of people to be more open to new inventions.

i guess you didn't read my second post that covers all of wich you just said.

Why did they invented the hydrogen fueled vehicles? Because of:
1.- Cheaper
2.- less contamination / Global warming
Nothing is just because.
Right now, the weather on earth is been very unstable. People dying of extreme cold in South America, drowning on USA and China, and the high heat on Europe causes deaths. This didn't happend back in the '90s.
Remember, global warming is a global warning.
My advice: Buy property at about 20 feet or so above sea level just inland from your favorite beach... and wait. You will soon own valuable waterfront property - in, oh, 30 years or so.
Build yourself a completely off-grid home, completely energy self-sufficient, and you can laugh at your neighbors when the power goes out.
Buy a horse and a bicycle, and you can laugh harder as they run out of gas and are stuck with useless yard ornaments.
Read an article just yesterday about how the arctic summer melt has broken records this year, and is expected to continue breaking records until there is no arctic icecap in the summertime. Means water levels will rise, but it also means it will open up new oilfields in Arctic waters. Russia has already planted a flag under the icecap at the north pole, and other nations are joining in the squabble over who owns what in the oil rich arctic. Wonder if that is what will spark WWIII.

Water mist...LMAO
uh...what planet is this...uh...what telescope are they using to see this planet in another galaxy?
ROFL LMAO

WRONG! theres plenty of alternative fuels, solar, dams, magnetic, all sorts.. You don't see people change solely on the fast that change costs money... and who here wants to lose money for the good of the mankind if they don't know if everyone else is going to do it? (probably wont)
People will change to alternative energy only when the fossil energy runs out... Just hope global warming doesn't go armagedon by that time tho... I heard that its gonna take just several more decades for the fossil fuel to deplete.
anyways, yeah... its money thats that big problem in global warming... its just not profitable right now...
Steven Colbert offers wonderful insigits into global warming. Aka- Al Gore caused it.
Of The total energy consumption of the world see what percentage of Fuel USA uses
Oil - 40% of total world production and consumption
Natural Gas - 23% of total world production
Coal - 23% of total world production
*as of in yr 1998 and has increased in recent times
In USA the percentage of population compared to the world stands at 4.6%
If the whole world can live and stay alive ans enjoy without any problem, then why cant USA. Well if we cant manage our resources properly we have no right to call ourselves the most developed nation. And most of the people here are ignorant about it. The problem lies in the fact that all our problems will take care of themselves as some of the people here have expressed (Corey I am pointing to u incase u r too dumb to understand even this)
and nobody wants to take up responsibility. What u want the Govt. to do? Save ur A** for u? They are no magic men and u need to understand that right now. And better if other ppl get this into their head soon enough

Uh the government is the reason America is still using fossil fuels dude...They are the ones who still make fossil fuels legal, go to war to get more fossil fuels, and try to discourage the use of electric cars...
