Zen Cart users - PHP 5.2 will become a minimum requirement.

GSIS
This is aimed specifically at Zen Cart users. However users of other software will also, progressively, find that their applications are not supported, and features in newer (supported) releases are not available.

The release date for Zen Cart version 1.4 does not appear to have been made public, yet. Following that release the final 1.3.x version (currently 1.3.7) will have only security issues addressed for 6 months before finally becoming unsupported.

Summary only.

* Zen Cart v1.4.0 and higher will be incompatible with PHP 4.x. The minimum supported PHP version will be PHP 5.2.

* Zen Cart v1.3.x will continue to have updates and will remain PHP 4.3-compatible. NOTE: After v1.4.0 is released, updates to the v1.3.x series will consist of patches for serious security issues only, in conjunction with the posted support life cycle.

* Zen Cart v1.2.x and earlier are no longer officially supported. They are PHP 4.3-compatible and probably operate on PHP 5 fine; however, it's important to note that they will not work on MySQL5 (typically installed alongside PHP 5) without extensive code modifications.

Thanks for moving this, but it's really a hosting issue as Server 2 is not running PHP 5 yet.

Quite, especially since PHP 4 is officially deprecated now - the PHP team won't make any new releases of PHP 4 anymore. As far as I'm concerned, PHP 4 should be an enterprise thing now for the guys running the servers that have software that can't run on anything else.
