The IDEAL Website... of the future
What would your ideal website look like? What would it do for you? What kind of content would it have?
The ideal website would look simple (like Google), be feature rich (while maintaining a sleek look), and not be bloated. Too many web 2.0 sites work like crap on low end machines. Even gMail runs horribly on my machine.
ideal website is to dependent on the project at hand.
A newspaper site will look way different from a gaming clan website.
Overall though clean and easy to use for the target audience. Any bloated crap (flash, javascript, other multimedia) should degrade gracefully and not be part of the main meat of the site.
Although, I wonder about people surfing the web on computers older then 10 years....and on 56k.

Well, Google is cool, simple, fastloading and useful. So i would make PRUUGLE. XD
Well, the real answe is other, because those things have all been done already.
But Google has done some things we can learn from. Clean and fast - visually and otherwise.
That's how i like it!

Hmm...I'm not sure.
But my Ideal website might include:
1. LOTS of good, quality freeware.
2. A great design.
3. Other good content.

Google does most of their web application development in Python. So, future web believers, go learn Python, and make the Killer Site!

MySpace is the worst site I have ever seen, I don't know why people love it.
I also hate myspace. And I don't know why some people like it....
Me: You have a myspace?
Some girl at my school: Yeah
Me: I hate myspace. It's for emos and kidnappers.
Some girl at my school: Well, I'm emo.
Me: You don't even know what emo is.
Some girl at my school: Yes I do
A while later
Me: Do you hate yourself?
Some girl at my school: of COURSE not.
Me: Well, most emos hate themselves.
Some girl at my school: Well, actually I do hate myself.
Jeeze, over some stupid website.

Unless serving bloated multimedia is the PURPOSE of the site (YouTube, tv network sites where you can watch shows online, etc.) I agree with this completely. If there's anything I can't stand, it's a site with Flash navigation and/or content. There are several companies out there that have products I would have purchased, if their website hadn't pissed me off. Developers, take note.
I think that this poll is so restricted. There are many options but also depends of the project. Google is simple and cool, but others pages are more rich on info.
Google.
It is fast, clean and reliable, with huge resource base and projects network.
Also you can get from it as much as you give to it. So... my choice is Google.
