I have noticed throughout my life that because a person is a certain religion they believe that gives them the right to spit on others of a religion that they know nothing about. I know for a fact that Jews and Islams are used as the butt of all jokes now it seems.

Why is it that Christians are not used as the butt of all jokes?
Is this because Christians think that their religion is THE religion?
Was it not Jews in the first place that God chose to be his people?
Why are Islams so frowned upon now?
Just because one Islamic person made a crude act toward the American society, does that give us all the right to look down on them as an inferior religion/society/culture?
Did anyone know that is was the Christian religion that first used the pentagram? Yes? No?
Then why do they choose not to believe that it was them in the first place who used the pentagram, why do they choose to put Wiccans down by telling them their "witchcraft" and un-holy demonic symbols (pentagram) are not right in this world?

I myself don't know at this point what to believe in, religion wise, but I do believe there is 1 greater being in this Universe. But even though I am apart of no religion does not mean I do not understand what it means to be religious and what it means to have faith.

I'm honestly sick and tired of hearing people joke around about others religions and cultures. I'm sick and tired of going to school and having to listen to some punk make fun of some other guy/girl for being a Jew or being Arabic or being Islamic.

We are Americans.

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL. We Americans are made up of many different cultures and religions and yet we still bicker and jest and fight over whats right and whats wrong. WE still choose to ignore the simple fact that, although men were created equal in the eyes of God, they still have their own beliefs. We Americans dare cross other countries borders to tell them that what they are doing is wrong and uncivil and yet we sit here fighting amongst ourselves in an animal like manner, telling each other whats right and wrong.
I see no liberty and justice in all this.

I made this post in frustration of having to walk around town, watch T.V, read posts about people clowning on others because they think that what someone else believes is right...is wrong. I honestly don't care what you think and whether you are offended but what I have said or not.

THIS is what I believe, like it or not folks, all men and women were created equal, live with it.

You've clearly never heard of Jesus jokes. Those things spread around the internet like a wildfire and now they're just annoying and boring, so we don't really tell as many jokes about 'em anymore, but there's still new people that make them occaisionally. There's the Monty Python Spanish Inquisition Sketch and a few other things as well. If you count organizations that are traditionally Christian, we've made fun of NDSAP (and those stilll go on a lot), the KKK, and the southern US. A group can't be the butt of jokes all the time, because the humor ends up drying up after a while.

No. It's because the fad is generally over with a few offensive jabs coming in sometimes like that YouTube video of "The Passion" which is sped up, inserted with several cartoon sound effects, plus Yakety sax, which you probably know better as the Benny Hill chase song.

Because Christians believe that Christ is the messiah, they believe they are now the chosen people. Should they be wrong Jews or Muslims would become the chosen people.

Have a sense of humor. It's low jab humor, but so is political humor. Theres nothing wrong with good satire, but if the joke is just plain poor and tasteless then it goes a bit too far.

That's "commie talk". You see, here in America people won't be equal no matter what politicians say. We don't even have socialized medicine and ISPs have free reign over what you can and can't exactly view, not to mention impeding connexion speeds due to the Cable companies. We need regulation, but that would "impede" the freedom of the insurance companies and telecoms, so we don't do it. Plus, we've got those pesky lobbyists and with politicians bent over backwards for these people, I don't think it will ever happen.

There is a big difference between "It's a free country" and "It's an equal country". You can't really be both as freedoms to do what you want would (fashion, a great output for capitalism) create inequality - there could be a rich and a poor, and a smart and a stupid. Nobody benifits from this.

I've heard plenty of Christian jokes, most of them being quite offensive in mixed company. It's not limited to a certain religion by any means.

Every religion thinks their religion is the right one. Come to think of it, I think that's why they joined the religion in the first place. Wow... how about that... And most religions have this thing called "religious tolerance".

That's making a couple of assumptions (which is never good if avoidable). First of all, you're assuming that it's simple fact, when it very well may not be. Second, you're assuming that ALL religions believe this, which is not the case.

I don't "frown upon" the Islamic culture or people. I have no reason to, despite the fact that the 9/11 attacks were lead by those of the Islamic culture. I believe that for a couple of reasons. For one, not all Islamic people are going around bombing buildings. Second, it doesn't matter what religion it was because any religion or group is capable of doing the same thing if certain beliefs are taken to an extreme. Note that I said any religion OR group. This would include any persons with a strong belief in anything, whether it deals with god(s) or not. Please also note that this is my own personal view on it. I can't speak for everyone else.

Not everyone feels that way. Although many people do, but I would consider it ignorance.

*Snickers* ... Perhaps you need to look that up and be sure, because I could've sworn it was Paganism (which is not Christianity). Not to mention that the pentagram isn't the "sign of the devil" like many think it is. Ever read the book or seen the movie Da Vinci Code? That's actually true about the pentagram. Well, most of it anyway.

Well there's several reasons for that. First of all, the reason they believe they weren't the first to use it is because they weren't, as I pointed out just a second ago. A "Wiccan" (if I remember right, and if not please correct me because I don't want anyone to be misinformed) is a spin-off of Paganism. Christianity and Paganism had a big fight over which religion was right a very, very, very long time ago. So Christianity started saying, "Ah! They're evil!" to get everyone to follow them. This gets passed down over years and years of tradition, and few people today actually know why Christians believe Paganism to be bad, other than "It's the devil!".

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you're still in high school, right? If not then apologies and ignore this. But kids in high school have a tendency to alienate others based on race, religion, looks, whatever. Most tend to grow up a bit and begin accepting other people's differences once they get out and start their life. It gets less and less the older you get (at least with today's generation; about 2 or 3 generations back and it starts to get a little shakey, depending on the person).

*More snickering*... ACTUALLY, Abraham Lincoln wrote that (and I assure you, he had nothing to do with the Declaration of Independance). What it DID say was, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
And I get what you're trying to say, although you mixed up your sources. And I totally agree with you there.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! Couple of things here.
1) We're not going any where to change anyones beliefs.
2) Um, they BOMBED US. THEY KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE. I'm sure that AT LEAST 9 out of 10 would say that's wrong.
3) The whole purpose of going over there in the first place was to keep them from attacking us again.
4) Yes, some people do act stupid and have trouble accepting another's beliefs, and it does get taken to extremes, but in most cases here in the U.S., it doesn't get past words.

Well among the many things I hate are "teenagers, jokes, and evil websites"

My advice is to stay away from these EVIL things
