GIF and Mov
if i'm not wrong *.mov is extention of movie file. are you trying to pick a picture from a movie? do you want to make a static or animated GIF?
I was trying to do that myself a while back to make myself an avatar, i wanted an animated or moving gif, the only problem was finding a program to do it for me, after that it was of course pretty simple. It was only afterwards that i realised the program i had used was a free trial version, its expired now so no more new avatars for me:(
Oh, and I used the gimp to edit it once i had changed it to gif, i needed to make it a bit smaller and cut out some fo the background. I would recoment the gimp to anyone, its really easy to use.
