Hey guys! I'm RageArtworks. I'm still in school, but I'm trying to get into the animation industry. Sort of.

At the age of seventeen, learning stuff on your own, while you're supposed to attempt storing absolutely pointless and/or obvious information in your mind, thanks to the Dutch school system. I mean honestly, we're trying to learn how to speak German (which, for all you Americans out there is NOT THE SAME AS DUTCH! Goldmember who was supposed to be Dutch kept on saying Scheisse, which is a German word. Geez) but we still have the greatest trouble saying the easiest things.

Well at least four years of bilingual education, which due to the plenty mistakes of school were actually five for me, made me pretty fluent. Americans keep on being surprised when I tell them no I'm really not from America I'm from your ancestors' country, haha.

...starting to sound a little destructive.

Anyway, back to the good things in life, I want to be an artist. You can check out some of my stuff on akirashimada.deviantart.com. I'm doing freelance animation after school to get some money. And I play guitar. I used to make... let's say Instrumental Hiphop. I was obsessed with everything that had anything to do with hiphop. And now I'm in a metal band. But my favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Oh well, I like pretty much all music. Just not overproduced "Doncha which your girlfriend was hot like me" (after which they go all like "I don't need a man"...) kind of stuff.

This is probably the longest autobiography I've ever written. More like the only one I've ever written. I just came back from vacation so I'm inspired to do anything I'm doing. When I doodled a bit this morning, an entire comic came up (twelve pages). When I messed around on my guitar this afternoon three songs came up. When I thought I needed webspace and this came up.

P.S.: I can't imagine not making 'quality posts.' Honestly, that you YouTube culture will probably stay away from here (by which I mean 'OMGliek yousuck' style comments).

Hi! I'm chainsawkitten. I'm also still in school and learning German. I like learning langauges Smile

I also have a deviantart: catscratches.deviantart.com . But I don't do animations, only pictures drawn in GIMP.

I also play guitar (we have a lot of things in common Surprised) and I started the band Pseudorandom yesterday. http://catscratches.frih.net/pseudorandom . We play hardcorn, which is a mix of Hardcore and Majsmusik. (http://catscratches.frih.net/pseudorandom/about.php)

And last of all I'd like to say:
OMGliek yousuck

(just kidding)

Can I hear a bit of you playing guitar? What kind of guitar do play? How long have you been playing?

If you want to try animation, google and download Easytoon. Really basic frame by frame black-n-white animation, it's great to play around with. And http://inkthinker.deviantart.com seems to have really taken Easytoon usage to the next level.
I like learning languages too, just not German. It's sometimes too much like Dutch I think. Besides, German is only spoken in Germany. I'd rather learn Spanish, but I should have requested that two years ago. And no one told me that I could still choose to learn Spanish instead of German!

I saw on that website that you use Anvil Studio for the MIDI part, honestly you might try another more audio based program. It would be kickarse if you had a program like Propellerhead Reason. Only problem is that they keep on making it more and more expensive.
You should use Reason's predecessor, ReBirth, discontinued so it's free now. http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/ It has two of the same synthesizers, one drum synth and a drum sampler. Too bad it's not available for Intel Mac. Sad Or, if you don't like the way you add notes in ReBirth, or the fact that you have to either burn it to a CD or boot the disk-image to be able to use it, you can try Tuareg. http://www.brambos.com/tu2.html Same idea, but a little different. Tuareg has more of a graphic approach to making music: you draw the notes instead of picking one note per step. Also, you can import loops and sounds, and you see the loops and bits of music on a timeline. Again, too bad it's Windows only. It's free (synth and drum machine) but if you pay a bit you get a sampler, and another synth I believe. And some effects.
These synthesizers give you more freedom of the sound you use, instead of using the default crappy General MIDI sounds. Ugh.

I learn Spanish at school. Don't know much yet though. iHola! Me llamo Albin. Como te llamas? Razz Gah, forgetting everything over the summer -.-

The whole point with the genre is to use MIDI together with real guitar playing. Have you head any Majsmusik? Otherwise you can listen to two songs I made quick under Music on the homepage. (also says what it is under About). The point of Majsmusik is to be random but melodic (the games are also random, with extremely zoomed in graphics so that you see each pixel and very odd stories).
And it IS possible of making good music using General MIDI Wink. Myself, I think "Timmerstugans Visa" is good but "Rain Is Falling Up To Sky" is bad (but more like the old Majsmusik, "Timmerstugans Visa" is more new Majsmusik, meaning not as random as the old one).

I play electric guitar. Have been playing for two years now (still not very good though -.-).

EDIT: I'm not very much for animation more than when I'm making games (and then it's usually my little brother doing it Wink ). And of course 3D animation (which I can't make yet but I'm planning on reading Blender 3D: Noob To Pro, have much other things to read).
