Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that "some" scientists and scientist wannabes really view science as a religion....even if they don't realize they are doing it. I have seen, even in this forum, how they will fight against different religions the same that say a Christian would fight against the devil. It seems to me that some of the scientific theories out there would take a lot more faith to believe in than believing in a God.
I am not sure why the "some" scientists are so zealous against religion. Personally I view science as a tool that explains some of the mysteries of life, so I don't really see why they are at odds at times.
i have this thing i do whenever i want to annoy Anna. i pick a random object or idea, X, and then i say: "A woman is like X..." and i go on to make a number of less than flattering comparisons. For example, a woman is like a bottle of Coke: Nicely curved, sweet... full of gas. You enjoy them even though you know they're not good for your health, and in fact may be slowly killing you - it's ok to have one or two, but if you have too many at once, you probably won't get much sleep.
The moral of the story is that you can compare anything to anything and find superficial similarities. That doesn't make them identical. It doesn't even make them similar (in point of fact, a woman is not very much like a bottle of Coke at all).
You can look at "some" scientists and note that their dedicated to their field, driven by the desire to share the true facts about their field, and openly antagonistic to those who distort or lie about what they study... and then you can compare them to religious extremists by noting that they are dedicated to their religion, driven by the desire to share the teachings of their sect, and openly antagonistic to infidels and heretics.
But if that is enough to make scientists religious, then women are Coke bottles.
