hi all,
iwanted to weather anyone knows under what circumstances will my browser,
when given an address like "google" try to fill in the tld, and www? also,
what tld's will it look for?

Depends on your browser.

IE will usually just append .com / .net / ,org ... etc until (if) it gets a hit. At least it did before 7, I haven't used 7 enough to know.

Firefox on the other hand will put it into Google (by default) and go to the top ranked site. It's the equivalent of typing into the Google index page and hitting "I'm feeling lucky".
