Well, Journey is a band. I was never a big fan, but they were the Nickleback of the 80's with one sappy hit after another.
I grew up and went to high school in the 80's and I have been collecting all the obnoxious electronic nonsense that was produced as music back then. It makes me think of high school, which unfortunately isn't always a fond memory.
I like 80's musicals... Though not necessarily 80's music in general. 
Sure, NWOBHM and the first wave of black metal (for example Bathory).

I love Journey, that one song they have still plays on the radio where I live, umm... Don't Stop Believing is what its called, it's awesome.
I don't know those bands but I am still stuck in the 80s in terms of music I like. Current bands just don't make songs like those times.

I'm totally agree with you, Guns 'N Roses with their album "Apetite for Destruction" blew us away.
