Oh and before i forget (edited bit)

i visited a website cnt remember what it was and instead of have www.domain.com/home/me.html he had www.domain.com/home/me

is it done by an index file? or soming thing in my hosting options?

There is no major difference between the two, but here is a place where you can find all the minor differences, which aren't that many.

The biggest difference is the missing "l".

To you second question, the site uses (at least I'm assuming, I know of no other way...) a .htaccess file to achieve the results that you see.

lol, the only noticable difference unless you are a pro coder is the 1 byte it takes for the 'l'.

The other thing with the directories.

www.domain.com will load an index file on that directory.

if you put an index file inside any directory eg. www.domain.com/files/me/ the URL it actually loads might be.. www.domain.com/files/me/index.html

Hope that makes sense.

Louis.
