Where in the registry is the Volume Serial Number for the hard drives located???

Volume Serial Number
it's stored in extended boot record in hardisk after you format it or do a diskcopy.
every programming language has a function to retrieve it. i cannot remember any example right now. haven't do any programming for 10 yrs already.
