I have a small problem, I need transparent sprites but they all have a background color so how do I make transparent images?
How to make transparent images easily?
Visit: www.adobe.com -> Photoshop
Ofcourse there are other apps out there aswell but I don't have any in mind, I'm using 'photoshop' /flash myself for web-graphic and other stuffs.
I'll look for some free apps for you, I'll come back and edit my post later

The GIMP (free).

Even I will go with 'Photoshop' for creating transparent images. Just open a new transparent image and then draw whatever u want.
If you want a freeware then you might want to have a look at Gimpshop which is another variant of Gimp.

I use Seashore on Mac OS X.
http://seashore.sourceforge.net/
"Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format."
When they say "alpha channel", it means transparency.

The most easily way is to take viewer (ifranview for exampe)
transparent as you want and do printscreen

I use Paint.Net. It automatically has a background layer but you can delete it (have to make another layer first), and you have a transparent image!
