CPANEL Link

coreymanshack
I personally think that adding a cpanel and phpmyadmin link up top somewhere where it says "Welcome user!" would be very nifty and make production more effecient.

I could be in the web design section and someone may give me a tid bit of info that could help me out, instead of typing in the url for cpanel or phpmyadmin in the browsers address bar or looking for it in favorites or bookmarks; I could just click up top and be there.

An auto login feature would be nice if you are already logged into the forums and you click up top for cpanel it takes you there immediatley.

you have two different accounts. And i don't think there is much integration between those two. It would need lots of coding to create that.

true, but at least a link to it would be nice. A lot of other sites have a link to their Cpanel item as well. that would be easy to do.

Umm i've never really had this problem.. but the link to your control panel is in the Account page.

Though. im sure it would only take 2 minutes to add (http://cp.frih.net/) after the Hosted: Yes

e.g:
Quote:
Hosted: Yes (http://cp.frih.net/)

and
Quote:
Hosted: No

I like the way you think hammy.

Lots of coding... blah. What's a challenge to 2 lines of code making something work?

Not even that, all that needs to be done is add in the html for the hyperlink after the "Yes" in the current code.

I think this would be pretty useful and save well, only a few seconds actually; after all you can just click on account and then you'll find the same link there. It would also look pretty untidy in my opinion.

Henceforth, I think implementing something like this on the line below would be better:

Quote:
Profile • Control Panel • phpMyAdmin

This uses the same style as the "FRIHOST • FORUMS • SEARCH [etc]" section atop the page and would look far neater. It would also be quicker.

I have one more idea of course if is posible.

Also, I think how is place below search engine good for an banner ads. Sometimes I find useful links on AdSense especialy when I reading coding forum. Very Happy

Remember that it can't be a link to CPanel itself because some have DirectAdmin. It has to say 'Control Panel' or something similar. Your idea does work well too sonam, although there is no phpMyAdmin link then. Unless it's something like:

It wouldn't be good to have too many new lines (I think there are quite enough as it is, if not too many now with the AWITs one that's just been added).

Having a link to your website in the Hosted section isn't a bad idea. (Could also be displayed like: "Hosted: Yes (www.my-site.frih.net)").

with lot's of coding i meant this part:

And for the link to your control panel, it's not that hard to find out if there should be a cpanel or directadmin link. Just check if the link is frihost.com or frih.com.

BTW: click on the AWITS link. All the links you need are on that page.
So to get those in the header shouldn't be too much trouble.

It is the requests and stuff, like if you have a directory listing requested, it may say you have 1 open or something.

I think it can be done. It should be done on everything as DirectAdmin, and since there are a certain amount of people with CPanel, the certain users could have the link switched with a script like:

Code:
if user="Userwithserver1hosting", "Userwithserver1hosting2";
{
innerHTML replace=('Hosted: <a href="http://cp.frih.net">Yes</a>', 'Hosted: <a href="http://server1panelurl.com">Yes</a>';
} else
{
//nothing
}

I know this code is totally wrong, but it is an example of what something would sort of look like with a code like that, except there would be much more users than 2.

Yea. Now if we could just get a little information about frihost's innards we could write the code for you FRIHOST GUYS! Lol, just kidding, because you wouldn't want to reveal anything that could be a possible hacking exploit. Anyway; This topic has pretty well layed out a few suggestions that I think could be plausable. Now if only someone with power could read this post.....

Perfect. Just add on a link to the website to make it thus:
Profile • Control Panel • phpMyAdmin • www.mysubdomain.frih.net
Ideally, it could be reworded better for neophytes, and have both profile links:
Profile [view , edit] • Website Control Panel • MySQL Admin • mysubdomain.frih.net

These sound like great idea's that could make things slightly easier for us. I just have my Direct Admin bookmarked in Firefox. Or if I've been browsing the friH forums I just scroll to the top and click "Account". 2 clicks and I'm there. Usually I just end up typing "http://MYHOST.frih.net/config" (if everyones extension is /config.. i don't know) in the address bar. I type fast enough that it doesn't bother me :p

Although there is a lot of unused space in that top table with Welcome User! [ Log out ]
Perhaps extend the table columns and they could have a few links printed there.

*shrugs*
