Why China has GFW(Great File Wall) on Internet ?!

Some Chinese will found if they are visiting a foreign website (such as frihost) with special words in URL, they won't be able to visit it for a few minutes. That means China GovXXment's GFW is working.

If you are not in China, you can feel GFW, too. Just go to http://baidu.com (A chinese searech engeing) and search "南京大屠杀" ( Nanjing Massacre ) , Baidu's severs will down for a few minutes, too! In fact, the server is still online but China GovXXXXXX don't want you know something about China !

In China, we can't visit WikiPedia, Most of Youtube Videos! How terrible !

Censorship is used liberally throughout the country so that people will never know what blunders and horrors caused by the government have happened thoughout the years of its existance. If there is information there that people in the government do not want you to look at, they will block it if the source will not remove the information for the government. This is the reason why you cannot visit Wikipedia - Jimbo Wales has refused to censor Wikipedia unlike Google and Yahoo, who bent to the Chinese government so they won't use customers.

Remember, in a country that is ruled by a party that liberally declares themselves to be "communist" or socialist:

Doesn't surprise me a bit. China's government/military runs everything in China, from the factories, to all utilities, and everything in between.

Proxies is useless some time.
But we can use some spcial software as a proxy.
