Hi. I was wondering if there is a way to get 2 or more computers to connect so that you can use local area connection with the computers. I mean having someone in another area of the country or state have a local connection with your own computer. Maybe there is a program that connects computers like that? The reason I am asking is because I have this game I want to play with someone but it can only be done through LAN.
connecting internet computers into local connection
You might have some luck setting up one of these.

I've never done it so I won't comment further.

That seems to be what I am looking for, but I am looking for something more specific. The game I am using is called Warcraft III. I want to run the program so that me and my friend and join each other's game through local area connection. This game connects through what is called ports. The game using ports 6112 and 6113 for players to connect in the game. So I need a program for this situation.
You can use battle.net, create a new game, and he can join it???
you can also try Hamachi

yeah, logmein's hamachi is pretty simple to configure and works pretty well (like all the other logmein software
)
To Jaan: No that does not work. Both of use have something blocking the ports thus us not being able to host on battle.net.
To the hamachi suggestion: Ok I've downloaded the program and there are these settings:
Manual Configuration: Address (My Default Gateway) Port: 6112
Connection through NAT:
Port UDP 6112
Port TCP 6112
Well I tried these settings and it didn't work. What should the settings be?
