......Isn't "Pearl of the Orient" the nickname of Hong Kong? But HK is only a city, not a country(although she is really different from China)..........and I am from HK Very Happy

Pretty much every oriental country I have visited, that had a coastline, calls itself the Pearl of the Orient. Even Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf calls itself "Pearl of The Gulf".

Bahrain is PFG though.

Knight_frost is referring to PHILIPPINES...not HK nor Bahrain. Philippines is made up of many islands thats why its called pearl of the orient sea in Asia..
