I have mysql in my XP system. When I start server, it creates ib1, ib2, etc files in the c:\temp directory which will be locked by the server. Is there any way to change the location of these files? I tried changing the tmpdir in .ini files of mysql, but didn't work.
mysql ib1, ib2, etc files
If you use an Acess database i think you can comunicate with mysql and this allows you to choose any location of the database files you wish to use.
I don't know if you can change the 'ib1, ib2 etc' in the temp directory. It may just be that folder only, but if its borthering you that much maybe try installing the mysql to a different location.
