I'm looking to practise my skills, expand them and so forth. To do this, I'm offering to code people's layouts for them!
The idea is that for a small price ($50 frih), I take your current layout, keeping it's appearance the same, I change the code behind it so that
a) Is 100% XHTML (transitionsal) friendly
b) Minimise the code that is reloaded each page load
c) Use divs to replace tables as much as possible
d) Move all styling to a seperate CSS document
e) Make the stylesheet as valid as possible*
f) Change your layout to fit new needs (NO graphic work)
g) misc stuff
* Some errors may occur due to 'invalid' hacks which are used for cross-browser compatibility
Please post your site URL for me check FIRST whether I'm willing to do it or not. It is possible I either decide that your site is already well optimised or well beyond my help.

I don't know if I can even do it. Its very fussy and some things cannot be done (for example no target attributes in <a> tags etc. If I do it, the same price unless it takes me a lot longer than transitional would take, in which case maybe an extra $50 frih or whatever you deem fair.
I made a layout for a personal video website and I need somebody to code it (I'm not enought good atm). I would like it in PHP, it's very small :
Home page : with a welcome message, editable with include
Video : The video page (or system) should be like this :
-One page with different video categorys
-When we choose a category we go to another page with a short list of the videos in this category
-When we click on a video, we go to another page to watch it
-On the watching video page, I would like a rating system (/5 stars)
Search : A simple page with a search tool to search the video present on my website.
More : Advertising/Links page
If you can do it, I would also like an account system, veeery simple, "My account" page would show your favorite videos.

I'd be more than happy to code the layout but I don't want do get involved in the PHP. Thats quite a bit bigger than what I'm looking to get involved in. You could try bladesage, otherwise I don't know of any other $frih php freelancers (sorry again). Oh my gosh, you have no idea how much I love you right now. But anyway, I'm probably going to make a new layout this coming week, so if I send you PSD's and a mockup, would you code it? I only need CSS and HTML that doesn't look like a monkey did it (as that's what mine usually ends up doing).
Okay, and this is more or less totally unrelated, but do you do gallery installs? If you do, please name your price. 
PS- Also, since some of my layouts are kinda weirdish with lots of odd slices and rather graphics intensive, I'll pay your price for any extra work you have to put in. All work on the layout itself is $50 frih. No more, no less. The gallery... I'll install it for $50 (frih) (assuming it will work on your chosen host [presumably frihost]). The layout isn't for the gallery though is it? That would be tough without me knowing their templating system well. (It's possible, just time consuming)
Oh, no. Just my coppermine isn't working anymore due to something that happened with server2. Something about imagemagick not working. I obviously didn't include the google ads as I don't think its allowed on other domains etc. I wouldn't you to have your account deleted for cheating.
What I've done
Decreased the page size from 6.5kb to 3.9kb
Decreased the overall size (css and images) from 20.37kb to 13.26kb
Used text as the header instead of image (smaller and good for search engines!)
Fixed it so it shows in opera
etc...
Please check it out and let me know of any changes you need

Any graphic manipulation/slicing etc is part of the layout coding process (IMO) so is covered by the $50 frih charge. I only charge more when javascript or PHP is involved. One more thing, can i send you .psd now and i pay you when i get cash, i get it fast in 2-3 days:P so you`ll end coding and slicing at the same time i guess if i`m in line ?
It is, but i guess for site with tables only, you should use tables, coverting tables to divs it`s booring when there`s only tables with data.

Hmm, it looked good at first, but when taking a closer look I saw you just used the background image to get the boxes. We could pretty much do that ourselves
We were thinking of a design which puts the boxes in with just coding, since then we could move them around and customize it as we want for the rest of the site, without having to use different background images for every part.
I was starting to think of a slightly different design that we could use instead, but since LostOverThere already posted here and you started making it... well no problem. If you can do the first design with the boxes then go along, and we'll pay you for that.LostOverThere / Loghete

Yeah, its just because the tone of the background alpha colour which changes when the background loads, right?

The rest of the text will probably be changed so don't worry about that. As i can notice, you work with gimp. Have you ever met problems with PSD files and if so, what have you done to fix this ?
I'm asking this because I worked with Gimp during my training and when my designer gave me psd layouts I sometimes had problems when reading them with gimp : layers appering although they were suposed to be desactivated, some pbms with shadow effects, ...
If I'm missing something to get this work correctly...
I recently upgraded gimp and have had no problems with the latest version. Loads beforehand though, I just had to live with them I'd like to request for a webdesign as well. What kind of information will you need?
