I just upgraded from the A620 to the (yet to arrive) TX1 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_a620%2Ccanon_tx1&show=all ). I am not sure if certain types of performance have improved. How can I tell if the shutter delay has improved. Has the field of view widened?

The easiest way is to just try it yourself and see if you think it is. However if you want to really be sure, just check the EXIF data. On Windows, you can do that by right clicking and going down to properties. On a mac, just click on it and push command + i. If you don't feel like doing any of that, just check your owners manual.
