Choices of Voices (free text to speech site)

I've had a lot of fun with the AT&T Labs text-to-speech demo, as many of you have I'm sure. In case you haven't discovered this, go to
http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php
type in some text, and click SPEAK or DOWNLOAD. There are 15 different voices to choose from both male and female which are very realistic sounding.
I have fun combining several voices using Audicity to make group voices--I created a message for my answering machine and my friends were wondering when did I start having so many people living with me Wink

Awesome! Thank you! I have been searching for the voice-type of Jimbotron, the computer voice the sports talk radio station uses every morning before reading emails. It's hilarious stuff. I wanted the same voice for recording an answering machine message, and now I have found it!!

Thanks for the two suggestions, I knew about the ATT site but not speegle. I am going to have some fun with grep, festival, and these voices. I want to read articles capture and convert them in speech and make podcasts out of them for a daily Linux news mag. I will either podcast them or sent them off as a shoutcast. The original Festival voices have been a pain to tweak for common text files and sites to sound reasonable on a daily basis. Thanks a lot for the excuse for more sleepless nights. ´)

This site is really good, it has good accent and intonation. I tested it in spanish and it's also good.
