Some people believe we live once and then we die... forever. Why to think like this? But there must be a reason to live! I believe we die... but someday we will arise in the Judgement Day. To live again forever. This seems much better, donīt you think? Question

I think there is "life" after death but I think it is in heaven (or hell). I do not think is it life on Earth as we know it.

I believe we are reborn many times. I believe that each time we die we go to the Otherworld until we are ready to be reborn. Eventually we will have learned all that we need to learn on this Earth and in the end go to some higher world. Some choose to become spirit guides and help us.

I know death isn't the end. I get messages from those who have passed. It's so rewarding to be able to pass a message on and to let people know a loved one is not gone for ever. It also gives people comfort to know death is not the end.

Some questions for you both:

1. crdowner: you believe there is a heaven and a hell. I understand this. But how shure you are about how is the "new" life like? I am asking but I donīt have the response. I am just asking to you if you believe that we will be an "ethereal" kind of life or maybe just like this life, as the Bible says the human being was intended to live.

2. woundedhealer: to you, I ask if your belief is based in supernatural experience only (I think you said this), philosophic matching or faith?

We have all different thoughts. I am trying to understand why. Please anwer and your answer will be important. Smile

I think we must accept that we die and that's it, nothingness, until Science proves otherwise.

However for some people it helps them get through life believing that one day they will live forever.

Depressing thoughts, I know.

Ok. I respect your point of view. But seems to believe in Science as solution for everything, donīt you? Donīt you think that our thoughts are somehow much greater than the ape's or the animal's brain activities? Isnīt it unexplainable that we exist and what is the reason for this?

If I tell you that:
1) I am a scientist and
2) I can prove, using solely the science, that, say,
3) after the death the human beings will live forever!
then you will believe in that fact?... or you may think that something must be incorrect in my proof -- because this subject needs faith!? Do you understand this point?

Again, I am just trying to say that in science we can make whatever hypothesis we want to. Then we need to prove it. Some hypothesis are correct, other incorrect. When we say that the Science didnīt prove something is not the same as to affirm that the fact is wrong. Only in case of scientific proof we could say something is correct or incorrect. Then we'll have something. Until nothing is proven, faith is only what the man has... or you can use the word intuition as meaning of faith, absolutely indispensable to Science. I is in accordance with the Science. I think thus.

There is no evidence that an afterlife exists, and I cannot belive in one no matter how much my uncivil side would want me to believe in it.

If we are going to die permanently we are just instant "shadows" of people. Then if I want to exterminate all form of life, it will be ok. Then we donīt need to care about ethics and moral values. Then the Bible is maken a mistake and since "tomorrow we're going to die", we may as well enjoy life while it lasts.

The comentarist John Gill says the language of such that disbelieve the resurrection of the dead, and a future state, to whom the apostle applies the words in 1Co_15:32" is:
- "since they had but a short life to live, they would live a merry one." and
- "let us take our fill of pleasure, while we may have it."

{name here}, I believe you are right when you say "there is no evidence that an afterlife exists". But using logics: if there is an evidence, there is an afterlife; if there is no evidence... we cannot say anything. But you will be "free" to do whatever you want and to think the way you want, no fear in this and no consequences. You can ignore ethics and moral. But in the second case (the afterlife exists): somehow you will be repaid for everything you did. Your thoughts could be considered. Note that this is not a trivial question.

I have my own opinion, as you can see above, but I am a scientist. All arguments are important to me and I will try to think like you to make my knowledge base wider (thank you for your commentaries).

Well, you know Atheists believe...oh wait that's just it Atheists don't believe.
Yes, Atheists do not believe in god (Theist meaning Believe and A meaning Non in some language).

Dying is just the same as sleeping, except that your brain doesn't control your breathing heartbeats etc... Wouldn't God's servers just break after trying to handle so many Heaven requests? Razz Wait, he is God... The mysteriousnessfulness...

It's a mixture of experiences and faith. I don't see it as supernatural, because for me, what I experience is completely natural.

I understand that many of those who do not share my ... gift (?) reject what I have, indeed some religions are vehmonently(sp) against it, but I see that as their problem. I guess I'm lucky to have had experiences that back up my beliefs.
