Second Biggest Dog... big enough.

quex
Meet Sampson, the world's second-biggest dog. (The record holder is still Hercules.)

The image displayed directly in the article doesn't give the best indication of how big this guy actually is... I'd suggest you check the pictures link in the early part of the article for some great shots.

Damn, that's a big dog. Anyone have a dog close to this size? I bet he doesn't jump on the couch -- he just walks right onto it.

At 6ft 5ins (1.96m) on his hind legs, Samson must be the perfect guard dog.

There's a link to a video of him on the above page.

Anyone want to tell him to get off the furniture? Laughing

Nooo thank you! As far as I am concerned he can have the couch and the tv remote too, I aint going to fight for it lol.

That dog is just so beautifull! I would love to have a dog like that (my dream dog is actually a newfoundland but we are stuck with a cross Labrador and a very determined Cavalier King Charles)...

No problem. If I can tell a fiesty (standard) yorkie to get off the furniture, I can tell anything to. Size doesn't mean a thing when it comes to dogs.

It is a beautiful animal, but I wouldn't like the food bill.

my cousin has a dog similar to that and its a pain in the @$$.

its always jumping onto the furniture and eating food off the counter.

That's because your cousin has allowed his dog to be "top dog". If your cousin were to claim that position and put his dog in his place - and the bottom of the pecking order, he could change all this.

Very true - I've often noticed the bigger they are the more placid and carefree they seem to be.

The one in this thread must be completely laid-back. Cool

I've never seen a horse in a cage. Why should an over-large size dog be put in one? I've seen some ones which belong in one, along with their over-indulgent owners

First the owners! There are no bad dogs, just bad owners...

his poo must be huge.

I wonder how long a dog that large will live? I mean, that's gotta be hard on the heart!
