AFC Asian Cup 2007
Any1 here following this tournament by any chance ? Lets discuss about it here.
Australia is firm favourites to win this cup. what do you all think about them ? Undoubtedly they have the best squad with a lot of European leagues experiences in the team. However, playing in humid condition they all could struggle in the tournament in my view.

Which sport is it playing in this cup?
It is soccer
Australia is playing like crap
After their great world cup performance its really dissapointing
I fancy Japan to win it. Australia have had a terrible start - losing to Iraq (none of whom, I believe, are professional). Japan qualified from their group this morning. I think this would be the third time in a row that they've won it, and 4 out of the last 5. If Australia beat Thailand by two clear goals, and Iraq don't lose, then Japan will play Australia in the second round (quarter finals) - that should make for a very interesting match!
Well Australia is recovering and is having now a good chance of qualifying to the next round. However, they are certainly not the best so far. Japan, Iran, and China are better candidates Good Luck for Australia and others.
Yeah, The Socceroos looked out of form. Some more there are rumours everywhere that there are rifts in the team. Anyway, they are through and Japan will definetely be their biggest test so far.
Australia are defnitely playing outside thier comfort zone. Hot and Humid weather was harsh on players. There had been alot of critism from the media about the players not wanting to play in the cup, but the team refuted that claim and proved it by beating Thailand to make it through to the Quarter-Finals.
They will be playing Japan next. We will see how the go.
I will be supporting Australia to win.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!!!

Well sorry to say that the Aussies are out.
Now Japan, KSA, and Iraq are the best candidates. I do wish that Iraq win this time to put some smile on the Iraqi people.

Austrilia was out of the game, now that you guys think Japan will go for the champisonship?
I really thought Japan would go on and win it after beating Australia - evidently not! But congratulations to Iraq and Saudi Arabia in reaching the final - I think most people thought there would be at least one of Australia/Japan/South Korea in the final.
It's especially good for Iraq, considering very few (if any) of their players are professionals, with everything going on in the country at the minute. It must be a huge boost for the people of the country.
I'm hoping it will be the Iraqis who go on to win the tournament; but I feel that Saudi Arabia probably have the stronger team and might just edge it. As for the third place play-off, I reckon Japan will regain some pride lost in the defeat against the Saudis.

Don't forget Iran too, they were favourites to win the cup with a lot of European based players in their team. Anyway, congratulationz to Iraqis people. I watched the match and I think it is a well deserved win by Iraq. A great farewell gift for Jorvan Viera too.
iraq won
lol
Well, I was wrong on all counts - Iraq won, and South Korea clinched third. Great news for Iraq - really well done to them. I hope they can now go on to qualify for the next World Cup.
Congratulations to Iraq, well done. I am so much pleased for them. I am watching Iraq TV everyday and they are still celebrating despite their suffering. I have heard many of them saying that this is a victory against terrorism.
Iraq is so cool... best country in the world..
