Get 1000Frih$ for compiling (small app on Debian)

Arnie
I'm running Debian Linux 4.0r0 Etch (stable). Whoever can get me a working binary of umap (the GTK version) will earn 1000 Frih$! I'd prefer getting a .deb file that I can install using DPKG, but a binary that I can run just like that is also fine. As long as you keep me out of dependency hell, I'm glad.

I followed the instructions under Building umap-gtk but got in trouble at the first make command already. Even though I have GTK+ 2 installed.

Note: Only when I can actually run umap succesfully on my Debian system, I'll pay! So it might be a good idea to try it for yourself first Smile

Oke, I compiled this one. See if it works:

If it doesn't work because of dependencies, we can go through the building process step by step or I can make a little shell script for building it.

Hammy sent me a PM before you posted, but I'm going to try both of your submissions soon and I'll let you know. Frih$ (obviously) goes to the first to get it working. My ISP doesn't allow shell access so that won't be possible.

Feel free to try MrBlueSky's first, It was 3am when i sent you that pm. I've just woke up now, so i havent made a start yet :p

Hammy.

MrBlueSky:
Code:
./umap: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by ./umap)

According to aptitude, I have glibc-2.3.6-2 installed. (Also libc6.) Is there a way to compile with less strict glibc dependencies?

This offer is still open to anyone who's interested! (I need it done ASAP.)
Arnie
Deadline ends tomorrow, when the system will be delivered... with or without a charmap.
