Finally!!! VMWare 6.0 supports USB 2.0!

However, Does anyone know how get VMWare to read your video card properly.

For example, I have a tv tuner for my pc which connects via USB 2.0. It install properly and everything, but when I go to run it, it tells me that it has a problem with my video card.

I have two video cards, both 256MB nvidia cards.

P.S.

I would run the tv tuner on the normal pc OS but it is windows xp 64-bit, and ati doesn't want to make drivers for the tv tuner that I have.

vmware will just utilize whatever usb device connected to host, provided the device are really "generic" like optical drive, storage, etc.

if the device is not really "generic" like usb video card, i don't think vmware can use it.

in fact, vmware never use your real video card, it only use it through vmtool, and you can see it after you install vmtool, go to your vmware computer properties and see the display adapter.

I found a forum that discusses using actual Accelerated 3d from your actual graphics card in VMWare.

this is emulating direct3d, not directly using the physical adapter. even that, it's still experimental.

well all i really need is a 3d accelerator that my tv tuner will play nice with.

so hopefully this will do the trick. if not, I will comment about my experience with it.
