good css guide..

yo.hassan
sorry if this is not the right forum to ask.. actually i am looking for a good css guide to learn css. most of the place i looked, discussed about the css it self. but theres nothing about how to put the css in action- in HTML page. i need it in action so i could learn it practically. even in the W3C page they only discussed very little though i got some understanding by it. any link to a free ebook would be good too. free because i cant afford to buy one. if anyone having some mail-able copy and wants to send at i would be very very glad. thanks

You'll find all kinds of helpful information at "w3schools" - not just CSS, but HTML, PHP, SQL, etc.

For their CSS tutorial, go to http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp.

Yeah, the w3 site isn't exactly 'easy' to self-teach. Hell, I still can't get the whole declaring thing down at the beginning of an HTML document.

I feel your pain, brother!

here is a tip for you, think of what you wanna do in css, and google for it, you'll find some code that you can use, learn from it, like "what happens if I increase/decrease this number? or what happens if I remove this?" that's how I learned.

Cause finding a basic css guide that explains alot of different css problems and sulutions for someone who is on basic level, would be very hard.

Wish you the best of luck with it tho, and if you find anything, make sure you post it here so more people can use it.

If you're just going to play around with numbers and such to learn, I would recommend Firebug for Firefox. The extension allows you to see what the .css is doing to each element and you can directly edit everything.

Well this is a good book, but it's not for a beginner, unless you are in to copy/paste, it has some good explanations tho, and shows some tricks that can be hard to figure out on google, so it's a good finding, but not the best you can get as an amature, but check out the basic parts like the multi div layout part.. that's goot for a beginner Smile

I don't see the point of it either.
