This is not necessarily a question about Tai Chi, so let me explain.
I have noticed a definite trend in life that no matter what it will always be balanced. The more unbalanced your life is, the more unbalanced you mind will be and then you will be balanced (relatively). The more balanced your life is, the more balanced your mind will be but if your life is only conventionally balanced, your mind will not be. This may seem like a bunch of confusing nonsense but let me explain further.
For example, as a child, I was not allowed to play videogames. However, while my peers that were allowed became rather bored of them eventually, my Imagination never grew tired of videogames, and, from a certain point of view, I experienced more happiness from videogames than they ever did. Likewise, in Africa, the people who are always poor and fear death always think of America as a "sanctuary". On the other hand, those in America (like myself) grow to hate this place of Corruption.
This theory is not simply a remake of the "Grass is greener on the other side" paradigm. This is actually a theory, a theory that is trying to find what mechanism of our Brain forces balance, the Balance between two idealogies, the Real and the Metareal. In Life, there is always an annoying balance between these. The ones that have more Real, have less MetaReal. The ones that have more MetaReal have less Real. I realize this is a product of our brains, however, if this effect were to be rendered inoperative, I think it would have a greatly positive impact on society.
