Hi!

Does anybody knows a website where you can download audio files (lessons) to learn Portuguese? I managed to find a lot of grammar but what’s the use of it if I don’t know how to speak…

Also, you can learn with music; hear the sounds, read the lyrics and sing (It works much better than boring rules).

Pimsleur is a great tool for learning the spoken language and the pronunciation.

Learning a foreign language is not a matter of memorizing some vocabulary words and reading some grammar rules...although those are important activities.
It is as much like learning to ride a bike.
That is, you must not only understand the concepts, but you must also make your body accustomed to using that information in physical activity: in this case the physical activity involved is speaking, listening, writing and reading. You need, not only memorize and understand, but also practice.

I suggest you guys try also free language exchange communities (e.g. www.polyglot-learn-language.com/ and http://www.sharedtalk.com)

May I also suggest you to visit the Portuguese forum here at Frihost? You will have an idea of the daily use of the language and help us enhancing our forum. During your learning experience, you could use our Portuguese forum as a tutoring tool. I would be glad to help you learn it and I believe many of our Portuguese speaking members would be willing to help you too.
