The only "free" copys are illegal downloads, and no one here will point you in the right direction for downloading that. Do as reddishblue said and download a free trial, or something similar to illustrator like Inkscape.
Save up some cash and buy the real thing, it's kinda worth it since you don't need to renew your trial or anything, I got licenses for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Reader pro and so on... I feel it's worth it, but I use it alot every day
