Warning about proof
Just like I can argue the good and bad points of killing a human being, I can also argue why God exists. I cannot convince with an atheist who is certain that God does not exists because the atheist has already sealed the possibility that God can exist. So atheists, if you are looking for proof you must first open your mind. I have already talked to someone who thinks they opened their mind but they did not! They even told me to be quiet about God, and that trying to change their opinion was rude! That is not openess!
Our minds are open, you theists have not presented any evidence.
You will not have much luck trying to convince any atheist to "open their mind" to your views as long as you refuse to open your mind to theirs. For starters, you don't even know what an atheist is. The vast majority of atheists are not certain that God does not exist. i don't imagine anyone on this board would disagree with calling me an atheist, and i'm certainly not sure that God doesn't exist. In fact, i have devoted a large amount of time to trying to find out if God exists. Why would i bother to do that if the possibility was already "sealed" for me? (Actually, i happen to have on my desk right now two books handed to me by some representatives of the students' Islam association at my university - a copy of the Quran and a booklet of questions and answers about Islam - and yes, i, a closed-minded atheist, explicitly went out of my way to see them and asked for both.) Open your mind and think about that, unless it's already "sealed" to the possibility that atheists are unreasonable jerks who have determined that God doesn't exist and don't even want to talk about the possibility.
in order to argue that there is A GOD you are actually arguing two points:
1. that gods in general exist
2. that there is ONE, unique god.
(this concept is taken from mathematics- existance and uniqueness of solutions)
I'm not certain as to how the existance of gods can be proven, but even if you can prove that, the second question remains- and I believe it is THAT question that is far more interesting.
the question is therefore: if there is "A" god, what's the difference between calling it "allah", "god" or whatever other monotheistic religions call their god?
shakespeare put it in better words than myself: "what's in a name? a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"
what makes islam more "right" than christianity or judaism? how can you PROVE islam?
From my experience, most people believe that there is something but are so disenchanted with the whole "religion" thing, that they don't want to bother with it and it's easier to say there are no gods.
One piece of "evidence" that god(s) exists is that the universe and it'scontents are so vast, complicated, unique and amazing. They say, "how can there not be a god when you look around at everything that is". Then the 'athiests' say "how can there be a god when you look around at everything that happens". Then again the believers say "it is not god that has turned away, but you that have turned away from god" etc, etc, etc. The argument could go on for ages. Why not just let people believe what they wish, so long as they harm noone? [I will admit though, sometimes it's an interesting debate.]

There really is no point replying to this. Muslim4life is just posting to get points and all that. He posted about 8 relatively long, pointless topics within 10 minutes last night.
God bless

I find it very hypocritical for a Muslim to complain that some other belief system is intolerant.

My fatal character flaw is that i trust that everyone's essentially well-meaning and good... and although people like him may have been fed the bigot's party line all their lives - about atheists being closed-minded jerks that just hate anything to do with god - i can't help but hope that if someone just takes the time to show him or people like him that that's just a lie, it might actually sink in somewhere, and make someone open their eyes and see beyond the bigotry they've been fed all their lives, leaving us with one less ignorant bigot in the world. Even though you're probably right, for me, that possibility alone makes it worth taking a shot at it.

Warning about your post: You did not actually post any proof of God.

Assalaaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu, Akhi.
You should've changed your approach a bit. You can start a thread by asking an Atheist to try to prove their beliefs to you, and you can do the same to them. Because......this thread somewhat didn't work.....
