Can someone explain what Goth cult is all about ? Do ghotic people worship satan? Why all (or almost all) gothics are teens ?
Goth culture
It's more a fascination with spooky stuff and vaguely scary music than anything. The wearing of the black is a statement of belonging (a uniform) and is heavily influenced by the books of authors such as Terry Brooks who describe worlds where magic works and people fight with swords and wear cuirasses, etc. Swords and Sorcery books in other words. The other major influence on gothic dress sense is vampires, especially the near pornographic scribblings of Anne Rice. Basically if a style has been worn in a vampire movie it's OK for goths. This is why the pale makeup and dark eyw-liner and lipstick are popular with goths too.
There are many goth bands and the music tends to be gloomy metal, though you do find bands like HIM (originally "His Infernal Majesty") being included as Goth.
The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from punk rock during the early 1980s. Some gothic rock bands were more art and introspectively based than punk rock. Gothic rock dealt with dark-themes and intellectual movements such as gothic horror, Romanticism, existential philosophy, and nihilism. Notable gothic rock bands include Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Mission. In fact, though, the Doors were the first band to be named as 'gothic'.
I hope that helps.
As to why they are all teenagers, can you imagine how daft a 50 year-old goth would look? They grow out of it.

Very good explanation Bru, thanks.
yeah goths usually like fantasy stuff although there are some crosses between punk and goth now. Some wear a lot of black but have pink hair and rings through their noses yet still claim to be a goth.
Well Goth grew from punk in the first place. Siouxsie was considered to be the first lady of Goth and was pretty much the first lady of Punk too.
If you already don't fit in, it can be pretty satisfying to shift your appearance further and further from the norm. Once the "us vs. them" mentality takes hold, any criticism from "them" becomes something of a compliment, an encouragement. At least, that's how it worked for me. I think most goth kids just want to belong somewhere, and find something they identify with in the culture.
