Depends on the type of design I suppose... Personally I really really like Aethereality.net's design. Crystal-kiss.net and Daydreamgraphics.com's layouts are really nice too.

Personally, I like Amazon and Yahoo the best. They keep everything organized and easy to find. Plus the pages load fast so dialup users won't have to pull their hair out just to get to their inbox.

One of the classic ones is http://csszengarden.com/. A HUGE number of pure CSS designs. If your intended layout is one that CSS is adequate for, this is a great source of inspiration. In fact, even if you do have to rely on tables for certain things (I know I do) you still get some nice layout tricks from this site.

Great site! It's inspired me to go down the CSS route. Unfortunately I'm not that imaginative with graphic design. Doing it with CSS should give me the flexibility to keep changing things until I like what I've got. I also admire the elegance of separating content from presentation.

yep all done by me....
as for sending the dj... i couldnt! after the hours spent in 3d max making him move gif by gif to put into flash it would be wrong to just give it out!
plus i want my site unique not like any others!

Slick96. I gotta give you crazy props on that Flash work! How did you do the spinning logo on the rollover of the pictures? thats the coolest watermark i've ever seen. did you just do that with flash tweening?
For the layout of your site, you can maybe look for design website!
I think this is a good idea, because designers know what colour match and the price are not that much.
But of course, it depends on the kind of website you want to do.

www.yaxay.com is really a cool designed site. Blogger is a good one. myWallop is excellent but it is completely Flash, but thats a good one too.

yeah simple flash tween, then reduce the alpha so almost transparent then simple make the images a button but with out a link.. and create a on mouse over play movie watever etc
obviously a lil more complicated then that but thats the main idea!

Readable layout pleasing to the eye, fast loading due to the use of small graphics; this site combines atractive design with good technical design. To many folks are confusing good website design with impressive graphics. These are not the same; combining the two is difficult in the extreme

That slick96 site is smooth. one of the better ones I've seen
quite big initially tho....
he's used a good idea too... creat the main site etc in flash and have like a centre part like a frame were the pages are loaded... but the actual pages loaded are html.. and therefore easy to edit and maintain... and helps keep the main site loading time down a lil!
