Vince McMahon - Is he really dead?

glenn83e
Quote:
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – A night originally designated Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night turned deadly when the WWE Chairman’s limousine burst into a fiery explosion just moments after Mr. McMahon stepped into it. Permanently uprooting the world of sports-entertainment, the Chairman has been presumed dead in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Local authorities stated it was still too early to declare anything as fact, including exactly what caused the explosion, but described the blast as an apparent “car bombing.” They also revealed that as of 11:30 p.m. ET, no body had been recovered from the incinerated wreckage.

Firefighters were quick to assess the scene, taping off sections of the parking lot to protect the evident crime scene and safeguard scores of onlookers – mostly our fans – from potential injury. Despite the intense heat and ubiquitous clouds of black smoke, countless people spilled out of the arena to get a closer look at the chaos they had just seen happen live on the TitanTron. Moments earlier, the sold-out crowd came to a still hush as they speechlessly watched from their seats.

“By the time we arrived on the scene, the entire automobile was on fire,” explained a Wilkes-Barre firefighter. “It was like an inferno, and our guys were doing whatever they could to contain it as quickly as possible. In my 27 years with the fire department, I’ve never seen anything like that.”

The emblazoned limousine was engulfed by flames that reached skyward at estimated heights of more than 50 feet. The sight of the charred debris led to speculation that there was no conceivable way anyone could have escaped from the limo alive. Early assessments from local firefighters and police officers sent a similar feeling regarding the probability of the Chairman’s survival.

“We’re doing our best to respect the McMahon family and the fans of WWE,” the firefighter said. “However, with that said, we have not found anything – there hasn’t been confirmation that Mr. McMahon’s body was extracted from the limo.”

As the physical body of Mr. McMahon remains to be uncovered, perhaps the most perplexing piece to this puzzle is the Chairman’s uncanny, almost clairvoyant premonition of tonight’s grim events. Over the last few weeks on WWE programming, the swaggering, well-off billionaire seemed to unravel right before the eyes of millions. Speaking of a threatening presence that lurked in his foreseeable future, Mr. McMahon even cited the looming of a “black cloud” last week – a cloud very similar to the post-combustive smoke that billowed above his limousine tonight.

Was this evening an eerie prophecy fulfilled for Mr. McMahon, given his recent premonitions? Or was it simply a fateful execution of coincidence? The ominous reality is that what was brushed off as incoherent ramblings of a broken man and former ECW World Champion actually may have proven to be an exercising of a recently discovered sixth sense.

This incident is the first of its kind in the U.S. since the assassination of political figure Orlando Letelier in Washington, D.C. in 1976. Sources say that given the nature of the apparent car bombing, under law federal authorities will be called in for a more thorough investigation that would supersede local Pennsylvania authorities.

Check back with WWE.com as we continue to follow developments in the most shocking incident in sports-entertainment history.

In my opinion Yes the Character Mr. McMahon is dead. however the person is not. You see folks when it comes to story lines with McMahon being on TV the ratings drop and nobody is really interested so as far as I can see they have put an end to that. As far as it being "real" well alot of local radio stations and news stations are falling for it. and if in fact is was real... they would not continue to show the image of the limo in flames... they would have went off the air much like they did when Owen Hart fell from the ceiling.

Anytime that the Undertaker's caket was set fire "twice" "once by Kane in 1998" "and once by Rany Orton in 2005" the camera kept rolling. as well as when Randy blew up Eddies car with Taker on the back. So again folks the Character is Dead, Not the man himself.

Yeah, Vince McMahon surely is not dead. He might've just done this so he can stay behind the scenes

This storyline is quite painful for most fans of WWE to sit through. Rumour has it that after the recent real life death of a WWE hall of famer it might wrap up alot sooner than originally planned.

With all of the death and critics WWE has because of wrestlers dying I question why the company would put out this kind of storyline anyway. Sometimes I think Vince does it on purpose just to taunt the critics. That night he had what was almost like a real appreciation night where several people said good things about him on the show, and some things could actually be considered true.. One thing I am sure of is that he enjoys doing these storylines, and it is of course just to get media attention.

Sadly their has been worse storylines in WWE than this.

Yes we all remember Mae Young giving birth to Mark Henry's baby... aka a hand and well a bunch of other items. I agree with the roumer about how it should wrap up due to the loss of Hall Of Famer Sensational Sherri passing away. I miss the eat your vitamins and Say Your Prayers days... oh and who can forget OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHAT A RUSHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm thinking Vince McMahon needs to have a surgery or a leave of absence for a period of time, and by blowing his limo up is one way they could do it without any questions being asked.

I used to be obsessed with wrestling but its the same shit each and every night. I am sick of Edge-Cena for the WWE title and I am sick of the other stupid storylines.
Afaceinthematrix
I didn't believe that he was dead, because it would have been all over the news. And it turns out that he wasn't. Last Monday when Benoit died, he appeared on Raw and talked about it. They cut the storyline that night which was supposed to be about his death to do a tribute for Benoit instead.

But the "Mr. McMahon character" is probably dead. I'm going to miss that character, I always tend to like the heels because they're funny. That's why Cena was so much better on Smackdown before he got the WWE title.
ric05
Yeah as soon as I heard this I hit the internet looking for anything that would confirm this. When I saw it plastered all over the WWE site I knew it was just part of a storyline.
Blu_Spykz
Lol I never get tired of people asking that (alright it's more obvious NOW that he's not dead) but the amount of Americans that went into hysteria at the thought of his death, and the amount of people on the TV, and Radio who believed it was astounding..and rather pathetic too.
mattchun
He will be back for sure, in the Season 3 he will be in jail and to break out from the terrible prison.
carlospro7
lol I can't believe the kind of this WWE does to get publicity. It's sad, yet hilarious.
Afaceinthematrix
He's supposed to be returning tonight, so I guess we'll see how he "strikes back" tonight...
Kelcey
Yeah, he "struck back" last week... he has an illegitimate child now Razz My my how wrestling goes! They were supposed to come back with a killer show this last raw because of ratings... I thought it sucked more than any episode in the past like 3 months.
SimonWSTS
Haha I miss watchin WWE purely beacuse it's so melodramatic! Any character that is "killed off" most likely has decided to quit the show and so the writers have to make them disappear conveniently...

Wrestling has really taken a shit dive in the last decade. Crap like this storyline prove it. Wrestling shows used to be about wrestling. Now they are two-hour advertisements for PPV events that happen way too frequently. No wonder many people have stopped watching this trash.

the last time I checked every ppv event is sold out weeks before the event even takes place. we apriciate your comments but just because you don't enjoy wrestling anymore dosn't mean you have to diss the ones who do

Wrong. They make it look like they are sold out by blocking off seats. WWE is anything but sold out. The PPV buyrate is decreasing every single month, ratings are going down, house show attendance is dwindling, and WWE knows this. This is why they have been cutting the rosters down.

The most recent wrestlemania, WM 23 had 80,103 fans in attendance, compared to wrestlemania 15 (which was at a time where most people consider wrestlemania being much better) where the attendance was at 19,514. Summerslam 2007 tickets went on sale 8 months before hand and was sold out in half an hour.

Also, how come you post the same exact thing on every single wrestling post in the entire forum? If you don't like wrestling, don't post in wrestling threads.

How can you compare attendance records 8 years apart? Of course the attendance would have increased in that amount of time. My argument was that there has been a recent decrease in wrestling interest as portrayed by the WWE itself, Rajah.com, and TWNPwrestling.com. But thanks for bending the "facts" to fit your argument.

What? Before typing things out, you should probably stop to think about what you're saying. First of all, how do you know I don't like wrestling (or did like wrestling)? Second, this is the first post I have ever made about wrestling in this forum, or any other forum. So please get your facts straight before posting another response.

Thank you.

Sorry, I meant to quote "eday2010" who posted:

He posted this on multiple forum posts about wrestling.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a recent house show here in St. John's Newfoundland and the entire Mile One Centre was sold out. No floor seats no Upper/Lower Bowl seats left totaly sold out. 7,000 people filled that stadium so I don't think house shows are flopping. 80,103 filled Ford Field for Wrestlemania 23 while other smaller monthly ppv events hold about 15-20,000 people. And the reson as to why they have been cutting the rosters down is due to the roster doing things that are against the drug wellness policy and other backstage antics... not due to sales.

I feel much the same way other people do on this subject. The damn storyline put me off. I wanted to watch people wrestle, not talk about who some diva did something with last night.
newso
Of cause he aint dead for real. The character is, but they will proberly bring him back or something. Like get the undertaker to bring him back. Wrestling is a joke. this topic should be in entertainment not sport.

They had to drop that storyline. With Benoits death, it seems Vinny Mac is bit pissed off about things.

By the way all this has resulted in a push for Cody Rhodes though

Because it's something I used to enjoy. It's something I used to watch, and became very disappointed at it went downhill. It's great that people like it; that's why it's still around. At least it's something I followed. IT''s not like I am commenting on Cricket or something.

And for the record, WrestleMania will always sell out as it's the biggest show the WWE has. Everyone expects everythign to be much bigger than an ordinary PPV. As for WM 23 vs WM 15, I am sure that if they held the event at Safeco Field or Ford Field, they'd have been able to fill it up. But then again, maybe not. One thing you didn't mention is that in 1999 the WWF/E was fighting tooth and nail against WCW. WCW had their own PPVs and their own fans. Once the WWE bought WCW a lot of the fans went back to the WWE. So there isn't that splitting of fans. Sure, there's NWA TNA today, but they are still a minor player and aren't really a threat to WWE that WCW was.
