Problem restoring databases

mtorregiani
Hi

I have a website on another host, but I need to host it here.
I was trying to upload a db backup (it was a phpLD script, so I needed the database).

When I try to restore it, appears this message:

Quote:
Error Restoring database

______________________________
Details

That database is not yours

What can I do?

Thanks
Bondings
How did you try to restore it on Frihost? And what format is the backup?

I was trying to upload the db backup. It's .sql format.
I went to MySQL, and then upload backup....

Could you put it in your root/home (not public) directory and tell me which database you want it to be put in? I'll try to restore it myself.
mathiaus
Creating the database again in Direct Admin then go to phpmyAdmin, choose the new database, go the SQL tab. Go to your old host, phpmyAmin -> Export, export all old tables and data. Go back to frihost and paste the result in the large textbox, click ok.

Or get Bondings to help you Razz

where do you get that "Error restoring database" error, in your phpmyadmin or in the script?

its as simple as this:

1. Use phpmyadmin to export the whole database as gzipped (gzipped is better, as it compresses the db)

2. Use phpmyadmin on frihost, and import the gzipped script (after creating a database with the same name, as on the first)

3. Use the search function, to find any references to the old site, then change it to the new site

4. Update your scripts config.php to reflect the new changes

5. If you still have problems, go on ask bondings, or me to get the database imported

OK.
I uploaded it to the root, my account is mtorregiani.frih.net

Thanks

PS: I tried what mathiaus told me, but there was some error (a db problem, I don't know mysql).
