PhpBB and CMSs - why?p

I've been going through lots of CMSs to find one for me, and i've noticed that most of them have got phpBB integrated into them. Is it possible to manually integrate SMF which i use and prefer/?

Of course it's possible it's just very hard unless you know what you're doing. I'm not sure what cms you're talking about though, but just go to the cms's website and see if they have a mod for smf.
