Don't forget to stop by at htmlgoodies.com
This site has been around for ages. Although it might seem oversimplified,
it's actually a good resource to get started. Covers topics like

HTML
DHTML
XML
PHP
Javascript
DOM
ActiveX
....

Everything is organized in easy-to-follow tutorials. And in the tutorials
you're mostly just reproducing the web-site itself, i.e. htmlgoodies. I found it
very helpful.

was going to post a link here myself. I learned HTML and Javascript here like a thousand years ago Wink

It was way easier to learn there than I could find in any other tutorials. Now they have quite a few more tutorials, and If they're done in the same quality manor as those first few were(The javascript tutorial was brand new the last time I visited), I'm sure they can help most newbies to understand the complex system of languages we have available today.
