Plz post if anyone know a good youtube downloader , which let you download videos into avi/mpeg/mp4 formats
Naevius YouTube Converter is a pretty slick piece of shareware.
Of course, you could always do a search for a freeware version of such a program...
And as I've suggested before, you could look into an online FLV converter, such as Vixy.net...
http://tubecodes.com - They should have gotten sued by now.
You don't even need a program for that
Vixy is one of the best ones out there.
I have used Vixy many times and it is the best one I have come across. I hope our suggestions have helped.
Does somebody know if it is possible to download videos from other site except youtube and googlevideo with vixy?
KeepVid.com downloads videos from pretty much any site, but it keeps them in FLV format.
Very nice. Thank you
just grab the youtube grabber very easy to use and its free
you find it at download.com search for youtube grabber
This one i found is great it is a website where you enter the url and you can also choose which format you want to convert the video to and then you can download it.
As someone mentioned the best solution is: keepvid.com to save video as flv, and Batch Flv Converter: http://www.ripzor.com/flvconverter.html to convert flv file to avi, mpeg.
If You Have Firefox Use The Video Downloader Plugin Or Use Vixy One Of Them 2 And After Just Use media-convert.com To Convert Them For Free!
there is a special youtube and google video downloader
just google youtube downloader and u can find him
written by Enrique Puertas.
2-FFMPEG is distributed under LGPL. You can get more information
about FFMpeg at: http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net
I use firefox with the videodownloader extension... it saves it in .flv format and then you can convert to any other format.
Yeah, same here. I use the video downloader extension with firefox. Basically, it picks it up from its roots, the flv. Then you can use a convertor to convert it to anything that you need. I use it for ipod vids...works well./.
I think the newest real player 11 or something can download youtube videos. I didnt try out though but I think I heard and saw it somewhere that it can.
it is a pity that vixy.net doesn't work for me...
I don't know why??????????
keepvid.com is great.
The site is often too busy, and doesn't work. Try it at different times of the day. But I too have recently installed the above mentioned video downloader firefox extension, which is much better than vixy.net.
I have like 10 youtube vids on my ipod by using 3 things... including itunes.
keepvid is the best
I use KeepVid.com as well, and use SUPER to convert them into other formats, such as MP4 (for my iPod). It's simply....well, SUPER!
Try out Ook Video for Mozilla Firefox extensions. It does all the tricks for you. And for playing FLV, try to google FLV players. There are numerous freewares around for that.
vixy looks gr8
thanks for the link
I personally love Wondershare Youtube downloader (The link is www.wondershare.com ) if I remember correctly. It is well-designed, very user-friendly, easy to use and also has a lot of features. Just give it a try, I am sure you will love it
But if you don't want a program, then Vixy is a good one, I used to use their service before I grabbed the free version of Wondershare Youtube Downloader.
Since I'm looking for FREE sw, first (and almost only), the FLV converter is out.
Are there any other free FLV converters?
Super does this, but I haven't used it yet (still converting AVI files, slowly)
Super is free. But it doesn't give the same 4/3 conversion ration that the FLV file seems to have, so I'm not sure which of 5:4 or 11:9 to choose.
A Super tutorial would be nice...
But my plan is to grab ... Naruto from youtube in English, or maybe from bitTorrents, and burn them on DVDs to watch.
cool thanks also for the links, i'll check out some of them now especially that vixy one
IDM can catch YouTube link and then you can download it easily.
I don't use any other Downloader 'cuz IDM can do all except for catching MMS link...That's bored.
Install this Add On in firefox download .flv video and youcan play it with VLC media player. Don't use any converters and other similar programs.
i was using VDownloader....
easy to used ...
easy to download..
can convert to mp4,mp3,avi
Orbit Downloader is the tool!
http://vid-recon.tk For Downloading in FLV
And USE FLV>AVi converter xD
No reason to use FLV > AVI converter, just use Media Player Classic that can handle it.
When you are surfing the Internet, you are to encounter funny videos from time to time on the video sharing sites, such as YouTube, Music, Myspace, Metacafe, Google Video, iFilm, Dailymotion, etc. It must be made clear that the videos posted on these public sites are all in the FLV file format. The FLV is a proprietary file format for publishing videos online. It offers high rates of compression, facilitating online delivery.
Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro allows users to convert FLV to DVD, specifically, to convert FLV downloaded from YouTube, Myspace, etc, to MPEG-encoded DVD files for playback on the DVD players to share with your friends or family. This is how:
1. Launch the program, you can import the source FLV files into the program by following the on-screen instructions. Then you can see the effect of the particular source FLV files in the Preview Panel on the right side of the File List on the interface.
Click on the Settings tab, and you can proceed to set the parameters of the end video file. Select MPEG for the Export Type, and NTSC DVD/PAL DVD for Sub-type. The Frame Size of the DVD file format has been pre-configured by the program to cater to different resolutions.
Besides the export type, you can set other parameters, including the frame rate, bit rate, etc.
When you have completed the settings, you can save the favorite settings in the Profile box.
Click on the Convert tab, and you can proceed to encode the desired DVD file. Then you can put the video on your DVD and enjoy it on TV.
thunderfish this Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro is not a free one, is it ? whats the best free one which can download not only from youtube but also from other video sites ?
yes, moyea flv to video converter is not free, but u can have a free trial, no time limited, it can not only download flv from youtube, but also from google video, myspace, and other websites.
if you want the free converter, supper works well, but sometimes it is weired in the end of my video, you can also use some online ones, such as http://www.convertdirect.com
If you're on a mac, Tooble is a really good one. its pretty new. it downloads and converts automatically to an iPod compatible mp4 format. Also its free.
I think it's very easy to download flv file from Youtube.
The program called "Iinternet Download Manager (IDM) " can do that ^^
Let allow this pic
And u can open that file (*.flv file) with "K-Lite Codec Pack" - the code pack which can open all of media file type ^^
Home : www.free-codes.com
link download : http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/filepilot/windows/multimedia/video/k-lite_codec_pack/klcodec370f.exe
Well normally one would want to save a file after watching, so why download it again? when its already there in your temp internet folder, you just have to copy, paste ...change extension to .flv and play in VLC media player works fine.
You can usually get the url for the flv file from the activity window of most browsers.
Hmm didn't think about it before but worth to try. how do you find the fine in Temp ?
How to find a .flv file in your Windows cache/Temporary Internet Files folder:
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
Inside the above folder, you should see some folders named with random letters & numbers.
Whatever you've downloaded from the 'net or looked at on a webpage should be in those folders.
My method for finding a particular file you've downloaded is to sort all of the files in those individual folders by certain criteria, depending on what you're looking for.
If you're looking for videos, programs or MP3's, they're obviously gonna be pretty large in filesize.
So, sort by size.
--> Right-click in a Windows Explorer folder --> "Arrange Icons" --> by Size
If you were paying attention to the time when you were downloading a file and have multiple files in multiple folders with the same name and closely related in size, (ex. YouTube videos are all named "getvideo(1), getvideo(2), etc... with no file extension), then sort by date.
The easiest way to change the sorting method in a folder is to view all of the files in a folder using the "Details" view.
---> In a Windows Explorer folder, on the top toolbar, go up to "View" --> Details
Once you're sure you've got the file you want, copy & paste it on the Desktop so it's easy for you to work with it.
Make sure you've got Windows Explorer set to display file extensions, so you'll know what you're adding or changing.
---> In a Windows Explorer folder, on the top toolbar, go up to "Tools" --> Folder Options --> View tab --> Uncheck the box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types."
A super-easy way to show or hide a file's extension is by installing this handy-dandy Shell Extension known as FileExtToggle (119k)
Then there's also the same super-easy way of showing or hiding hidden files with HiddenFilesToggle (119k)
After all of that, you've just got to add/change the file extension of those files that you KNOW are videos to .flv
dude why are you converting flv to anything?
I just use Media Player Classic to play them (under package of CCCP)
Thats what I use, and its never failed me. Also VLC works very nicley as a trans-coder to convert the FLV file to mpeg so other people can view it more easily.
If you need to Media Convert works very nicely for converting FLV files to other formats too.
you can download the videos .
Only you need is to put the address of the video which you want to download in this website
http://vixy.net .This website is good because it will allow u download the file in avi,mov,mp3,3gp,mp3(audio only) format.
Also there is a software called orbit by which you can grab the videos .To download it go to
http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ .This software is free.
To grab the video you have to switch on grab++ before watching that particular video.
It will automatically grab the link of that video.
I think tihs is one of the best YouTube downloader: http://convertyoutube.com/ .
Recently Youtube have changed there coding with video shairing. Some download sites need to be ungraded/updated to new situation
It's not limited too just youTube either. When it light's up and spins in a circle, download away!
l've used this with megavideo, some japanese hosting sites, youtube, dailymotion. It even gives a list what will work with, just press and it boosts up a list you can use. Also let me spread too other sites that l didn't know existed. Highly recommend!
FireFox + DownloadHelper
CCleaner cleans garbage/registry errors out of the Windows.
And if you need too convert, format factory.
Pretty much the first things l install and run every new machine.
For me it has to be with Firefox download helper add-on.
This add-on to firefox allows downloading and also conversion.
This has been my choice for the last 2 years.
Only draw back is that it only runs in Firefox.
um....yeah... who says good youtube downloaders have to be on your computer?
it can download youtube files and export them to many formats. you can also convert formats of files on the web or on your computer.
Thanks to ProwerBot.
The site looks great, have not tried it yet - is it free?
Any limitations - such as must post to forum to keep account alive?
Oh I got mixed up with Frihost.
Just kidding and earn some extra points to be keep active.
Hmm... StreamTransport is free and it downloads in flv but you can easily convert with Format Factory.
http://www.video2mp3.net/nl/ works for me
You can try this free youtube downloader.
I use AHI YouTube downloader
Download video off YouTube, Metacafe, imeem, Break.com, Dailymotion, Veoh, Yahoo video, Google video, MySpace.
I prefer use use Flash to Video Encoder PRO.It’s prog for convert flv to many different formats.Try
Search YouTube Downloader on Google to download your favorite videos.
I use this website www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/. hope it works for you
Internet Download Manager i think also better to download tube files ?
On android phones a great downloader is TubeMate. It can be found on the Amazon app store.
Internet download manager (for Windows). It is not free, but it integrates a very good downloader into the browser. And it even accelerates the download speed (just a bit, but the speed difference is slightly good).
I am using http://youtubedownloader.org/ but on some music is the quality very poor.
firefox browser plugin +1
I have used clipconverter.cc many times to download music from YouTube videos, but it also doubles as a video downloader. It's extremely versatile, letting crop which section of the video you want. I've always been curious how these websites work, and which one is really giving you the highest quality possible from a raw YouTube link. I've always been into high fidelity
youtubeinmp4.com/ ----> is great!!!
if the youtube player is not HTML5 you can simply Save the webpage or copy the mp4 from the cached page, but since we're getting HTML5 player force-fed this option is no longer available.
I've been using this one lately: https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/ and I'm quite happy with it.
Currently I have been using 2 firefox plugins to do that
1. Flash and Video Download: grabs flash videos.
2. DownThenAll: best download manager I have found.
I also use downthemall but use it with downloadhelper. This way earn me speed and time.
I use a Firefox Extension Easy Youtube Video Download Express. Works well and very fast.
Try www.clipconverter.cc it's a very good dowloader, it gives you the possibility of dowloading in several formats as .mp4 .avi or even mp3 if you want to convert the media. and th most inportant thing is that it dowload very long videos such as movies and so on.
Works perfectly for me the 1-click video downloader Firefox expansion. I can choose between a number of formats and picture sizes for the downloaded video from youtube.
I highly recommend youtube-dl.
Best I ever used.[/url]
Well. useful video downloader I have used: YouTubeinmp4, Keepvid, catchvideos
Easy to use but it takes long time to analyze video URl sometimes.
I just try this one http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/keepvid-alternative.html to download videos recently. 1080P videos also work fine with it.
And it is free of charge. Its ok.
I found this app for more or less a year and haven't found anything easier than this. It is called mps-youtube. It lets you watch youtube videos, download a copy of the video and even downloading an mp3 version of the video. It is available in Linux, Macintosh, and Windows operating system. I am using it on both my Linux and Windows 10 Machine. Hope you like it too.
i think that a good program is http://yvd.sourceforge.net/
it's also opòen source, this is ever good!
