I don't quite understand sports

The other day these three people I know were playing a game with a bottle halfway filled; whoever could land the bottle right side up after tossing it could toss it on the other person's hand. That's about when the person sitting next to me said "that game is so pointless" and I replied "what game isn't?"

What the hell is the point behind any game in the entire world? Revolutions could be had, people could make profit, things could be done to help the world, but instead we play sports and games. Why? Why do we do this, knowing better things can be done?

I don't get it, does anyone else?

Sports why do we do it?

First of all it entertains us. We all love to be entertained. Its fun and exciting to play and watch.

Second, its like a way for us to relieve stress or to get out of reality. Its like a high for alot of people. it just makes you feel good winning a game. And we all love to win. Unless you like to lose.

Third, probably the competition. We see who is the better man or hte alpha male.

chess: good for your mind...keeps it runing well;
athletism: heart and blood circulation, brain oxygenation;
snooker/pool: anticipation, good for mind and eyes;
football (soccer): health (if you don't get injuried);

Well there are alot of good things you can do rather than playing sports. Yes but you wouldn't be able to do them if you play no sports . You might look around yourself and see that any one who play some sports and keep himself fit remains the most active in any kind of activities even helping people than those who don't play sports.
And as far as you said that money can be earned instead of playing sports. then you are wrong buddy . Don't you know how much money and profit is involved with sports , How many people are employed due to sports , How many earn their livings from sports ?
