The vast majority of religious people i have spoken to do not believe in aliens. However, surely the very basis of an omnipotent power such as 'god' is that he is an alien being to our planet. He certainly isnt flesh and blood from what ive been told. So this brings up the question 'what is it about the religious mind set that seperates the two?' If i was a dedicated believer in such things i would say 'yes absolutely aliens exist! One big one with a beard! and a bunch of other funny ones with wings and halos and stuff.'
God and aliens
If i was a religious person, i would tell you that God is everything, alien and earth dweller. God isn't a single thing, but many things....
But I'm not, so you are probably right

Actually, you cannot think of got as a living being with a body and flesh and bone.
He is a spiritual immortal being who is present in all of us.
Let me say something here: "A musk deer always looks to find the source of that fragrant smell when little does he know that it lies in himself."
Why I said this is to draw a comparison: "Man seeks God far and wide when little does he know that God is within himself."
So, if you deem God to be an alien, yes, if he is in every one of us then he will be in every alien too.

Interesting topic. My take on God and Aliens is I believe in God and I believe there is a possibility of aliens, but I do not consider God an alien.
As one of those God believing people I believe that God created the universe and everything in it. Let's leave that to the other debate. I have heard that Astronomers have made some discoveries that could lend to the idea that there was once, or could be, life on mars which could lead to similar conclusions elsewhere in the galaxy. But we are still uncertain about whether we on earth are alone, and no conclusive proof that lends to a verdict either way. Astronomers have their theories, but once again as I have said before, they are only theories, an explanation based on what we already know.
As a believe in a all powerful God, I would have to say that God could have and may have or not have created life outside of earth. It would make since that if we, on earth, are indeed alone in the universe, then we are unique and special to the God who created us. And it would confirm this to say that God has put us humans in charge (to take care of) this planet and what is in it.
As for the possibility of aliens, I think I just changed may mind, based on what I just wrote in the prior paragraph. God has chosen us to be do his work on earth towards one another.

I may not believe that God is an alien, but I won't discount the possiblity that He created life on other planets. Look at how big this universe is. It would be rather vain of us to think that we're the only "intelligent life" that was created. If that were the case, it wold be a lot of wasted space out there.
I think that God is an alien because, he is not human body. But he is the greatest one. And I thinks also angels, demons, and so are also aliens. they don't live in the same planet with us.
And i think that also what we call UFO are entrance of theses other creatures in our world.

There's a whole group of folks (the Raelians) that believe YHWH is indeed an alien - According to them, Jesus's father was an "Eloha", or alien creator scientist:

I had the good luck to attend one of their seminars back when I was in university. It was a very entertaining evening. Such interesting insights as: the pattern of flowing water in a Sumerian carved stone block is modeling the helical shape of DNA.

| The messages dictated to Rael explain that life on Earth is not the result of random evolution, nor the work of a supernatural 'God'. It is a deliberate creation, using DNA, by a scientifically advanced people who made human beings literally "in their image" -- what one can call "scientific creationism." References to these scientists and their work, as well as to their symbol of infinity, can be found in the ancient texts of many cultures. For example, in Genesis, the Biblical account of Creation, the word "Elohim" has been mistranslated as the singular word "God", but it is actually a plural word which means "those who came from the sky", and the singular is "Eloha" (also known as "Allah"). Indigenous cultures all over the world remember these "gods" who came from the sky, including natives of Africa (Dogon, Twa, etc.), America, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Leaving our humanity to progress by itself, the Elohim nevertheless maintained contact with us via prophets including Buddha, Moses, Mohammed, etc., all specially chosen and educated by them. The role of the prophets was to progressively educate humanity through the Messages they taught, each adapted to the culture and level of understanding at the time. They were also to leave traces of the Elohim so that we would be able to recognize them as our Creators and fellow human beings when we had advanced enough scientifically to understand them. Jesus, whose father was an Eloha, was given the task of spreading these messages throughout the world in preparation for this crucial time in which we are now privileged to live: the predicted Age Of Revelation. |

No one seems to have answered the question as of yet.
The general description of a god tells you why He cannot be an alien. He's not a biological being.
An alien would be another biological lifeforce on another planet.
The reason most Christians believe in God and not aliens is because the Bible only speaks of Him creating the Earth. But even if the Bible doesn't contain any information about creating other life forms on other planets, who's to say that He didn't?

Fundy's do speak of evil aliens. Ronald Reagan once pointed upwards. saying, "What if the threat were not from here at all, but from above?" Mrs. Baker, in her doom, riled against the evil of aliens, in her huge hair and extra black mascara.
Catholic priests do not deny in any way the existence of life elsewhere, they know all too well that evil lurks in every corner of the universe. But goodness makes itself most well known and prevalent on this, our own world. And so we truly are the masers of fat, the center of the spiritual universe.
Christians do not deny in any way, the existence of aliens, in my experience, but rather recognize that we her control the fate of all those foolish aliens.

Exactly.
I'm a huge sci-fi fan so I enjoy reading about other planets, dimensions, aliens and things like that.
As far as the bible not stating weither God created life on other planets, I feel that there wasn't any reason to. What we need to know is there. If He did create life on other planets and they have a bible like we do, would he have told them about us?
Just wondering.

Thats not true at all. Alien is anything not from earth really. All depends on your definition really. But Capt James T Kirk was always running into alien life forms that were pure energy or multidimensional beings etc.
If i was ever to run into a 'god' of some description i would be pretty sure to descrie it as alien.

A pure energy being would not be possible because they would have no "will" so you really couldn't call it a being, it would just be matter. An engery being is all fine and good for Star Treck, but it's purely fiction.
Not to mention that when you ask someone, "Do you believe in aliens?" they're more than likely thinking about some creature, something that's biological, with organs, skin, and a brain.
About this raelists... We are actually getting close ourself in technology to the designerstorystandard... maybe we will be in level.
We are finding new dna functions every day... Actually, at that time science fiction, but soon reality for us to design...
Well, aliens can therefore look like us - if they got the idea to design something similar to them self.
Ok, so if they were here once - they are here now. So who's alien here? I mean not born here
