Can't find driver

jane11
Hi Everyone:

Hoping you can help! I formatted my hard drive (first mistake), but it actually worked okay...sort of. Problem is, I have no sound. I've checked previous posts and have done what was suggested, (i.e. download Belarc and get the info needed, go to the manufacturer's site and enter the model number and the driver should be there, right?

Uh uh. I can't find mine.

I went to the ASUSTeK site, selected Motherboard, and then tried to find P4SD-LA to no avail. There was a P4SDX. Am I barking up the wrong tree here???

I am very grateful for any help you can provide!!!!

You might just have the wrong serial number for you Mother board. Is your Motherboard based off the Nforce seres if so just go to Nivida and DL the Nforce drives, other that that just google the drivers and see what you get. Do you have any old driver cds for your system, try installing thoes

First off, you should have consulted HP's website first.

I found this page in about 30 secs in HP's site

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00063272

Says here you have a

Quote:

* RealTek ALC650 6-channel audio CODEC subsystem
* AC'97 2.2 compliant

audio chip.

So either you download form HP's support site for the driver or you can do a search for other sites that offer the driver's download.

But i would recommend that you download from HP.

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

And search for the drivers for the model of your Pavillion

Would have put in the exact URL for the driver but you did not include the Model Number of your PC, Something like Pavillion 7955. It is usually printed in the badge that is in the front bezel.

Hope this helps you.
