I am willing to edit video to create a visuals set for a multimedia show...
what software would you recommend?
thank you!
Maybe you should change the topic name, I think more people would respond that way. xD I'm not sure exactly what you mean, if you want video editing, I like using the resources that come with macs. xD; They work pretty well.
Final Cut Studio on a Mac is absolutely great....everything you need. Adobe Production Studio on a PC is also really good, again everything you need in one package. I've heard that Sony Vegas is a good NLE as well. Avid is kind of the standard on the really high end. With Final Cut Studio or Adobe Production Studio though, you get not only a Non Linear Editor, but a motion graphics creation program, a sound editing and creation program, a DVD authoring program etc.... So with those packages, you are all set to go and don't have to look around for other programs. If you are serious about doing video production, you will want all these programs sooner or later. If you are just playing around, you can use the free iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. If you want something a little better you can download Avid Free DV or you could buy Adobe Premiere Elements for under $100.
I don't know where to ask this question. It is sooooo... low tech. I have a video player that connects to an RCA cable that I have to boost the signal. I don't know how to boost a video signal if it uses an RCA jack. I would rather not have to get svideo switcher, cables & boost.

Adobe Premiere Elements if your a starter, otherwise Adobe Premiere Pro!
I agree that Adobe Premiere Elements is good & you can buy it w/Photoshop Elements. That way you can modify pictures, titles and make simple animations etc. You shoudl be able to get it on sale between now and Xmas. Here in California it is around $110. I am hoping we will see it under $100. We will see.
