How to restore database?

Carola
Hi friends, I had already a hosting. but its not working often. So I have hosting here now. So I had created a new forum here but I would like to transfer my old database to this forum I dont know how to do this. Does it matter how big the database is? Because my old forum is quite active with a lot of posts and members.. can anybody here help me with this all? Confused

Thanks in advance Wink

If you have Custom Mods

--> Go to your control panel
--> phpMYadmin
--> Use phpMYadmin to backup

If you do not have Custom Mods

--> Go to your ACP
--> Backup

FTP all your forum files into your PC from the old webhost.

FTP back all the files onto the FRIHost server.

Open config.php. Edit it to the configs here.

Now go to phpMYadmin. Go to the database. Then restore it.

If the file is bigger than 2048kb (which is more likely), split it up.

A lot of things can go wrong when you split up a MySQL file (especially if you don't know MySQL). If the MySQL file is big, I suggest using BigDump (http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php) to restore it.
