Have any of you ever had this problem with Vista? I just bought a desktop today and set it up and all. After I rebooted it, the system would keep on rejecting the password. And finally it would reboot.
No, I did not type my password wrong. It usually would say Incorrect password. But it actually said This handle is invalid or something like that.
repair your installation... it will solve your problem
Also, be sure to apply all updates after you repair your installation. If you don't the problem *might* come back after you repair it. This is the exact reason I'm going to wait to upgrade until SP1 or 2 comes out. Problems like this are ones that I just can't deal with with how much computer work our family does. Once it is a little more reliable, vista will be a very nice OS, IMHO.
Depending on how many hours you have into the setup I would just wipe it clean and start over. I had similar issues with 2000 Server, XP, and 2000 Pro all on the same box. Turned our the hdd was failing.
Something to keep in mind if you continue to have odd failures.
