Punching/boxing bag?

fbcompany
Hey guys,

I want to get into a little bit of cardio work during the uni holidays, and I had a go at a punching bag at a mates house and it got my heart racing quite quickly. So ever since then I have been wanting to get one. I just want to burn a bit of fat and get a bit more upper body strenght. So would this do anything?

I was looking at this particular bag, what do you guys reckon? Just fill it up with compacted sand I guess.

But I dunno if 95cm is really large?

Thanks

I think any activity will help lose weight, and boxers are some of the most in shape athletes around.

I would probably buy one thats affordable and doesn't take much to setup/take down. If you have set the thing up everytime you work out, you'll probably quit.

That one should work, don't worry. It's definitely a good workout, but I can only recommend running...

I go to local used sporting goods stores for my stuff.

You can pick up a full sized bag for the price you will pay for a smaller one elsewhere.

If you are punching the bag you might as well learn to do it right while you are at it. Get some training material and study technique a bit. It will reduce the chance that you will injure yourself and make you a better fighter.

Punching bag is a nice idea Smile I'm going to buy one to train during holidays(like you, good idea). It can upper your dynamic power(your punch will by stronger) but the technique is also important so you should start train some martial arts(karate or something).
I think 95 cm will be OK Smile
