Firstly you need a good camera.

To capture a panorama shot you will need to capture images in sequence and join them together. The problem is that you may not be sure that the successive images that you take are perfectly aligned with each other.

On many Sony Ericsson phones the cameras have panorama modes where you click three pictures in succession and they get joined together. An edge of the previous picture is displayed so that you can click the second and third picture with good alignment.

Anyway assuming you have three pictures taken with any camera you can join them with a good image editing software like Paint Shop Pro or even MSPaint.

You can rarely capture a whole panorama scene in one photo. The term that comes closest to that is a "wide-angle" photo.

Good luck,

Please dont use MS Paint. You can use IrfanView.

Try Hugin - it is powerful panorama maker

http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

with some tools you can generate keypoints automaticly

http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~nowozin/autopano-sift/

first steps are not so easy, byt it can generate perfect panorama.

it creates panoramas using
smartblend - http://smartblend.panotools.info/
emblend - http://enblend.sourceforge.net/

it could also generate layerd PSD and you can play with photos in Photoshop or Gimp.
But the hard work is done by hugin - perspective corection, light corection, lens corection, ...
