Need help with gallery2

I want to install gallery2 on my website. Now I've got a problem: On step 4 (its the step where to create the picture folder) in the installation process there came up a problem with the right to write.

I create the folder on my ftp and its really there, so what can i do?

Please help me quickly.

with the right to write indicates that the folder should be chmod to 777 so files can have the ability to write to the folder.
