Inefficient Memory Bandwidth - SISandra

sunjay
Hi,

I ran the SISandra benchmark the other day and the results says that my computer is only 50% bandwidth efficient.

I have an Asus P4VP-MX motherboard,
Celeron D 2.66ghz,
512mb PC3200 DDR ram.

The chipset is P4M266.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

The score returned from SISandra is 1059mb/s. is that normal for that chipset?

I might be grasping at straws but are you using the current BIOS for the motherboard? If not, check the revision history to see if any performance changes have been made. You may have a separate chipset driver that needs to be updated. The ASUS support site should have information on both the BIOS and chipset (if available).

You may want to see what memory speeds are supported on the motherboard and the see what speed your memory is. If you are using slower memory and the motherboard supports higher speed memory, this could explain the efficiency rating.

Also, make sure that all of your memory modules are the same speed. If you mix memory speeds, all memory modules will operate at the slowest speed for compatiibility.
